I logged on to see if Carnero would be there. after about 5 minutes of killing ornery sheep he popped and dropped. I can confirm that the sword is a 100% drop.
Sad part of this story is that I am a lvl 30 SAM. So, unfortunately, I have no use for it. If only to wear it around town to show it off.

Insanity. That explains trying to find the NM sheep on Vomp hill. A friend of mine and I spent 2 hours running in circles on the second level and never saw it. He got tired and left. I stayed around I-8/I-9, subbing rng, for another 45 min. and nothing. I just want to say, for the record, this is bull****! lol, I'm going to try again today. We'll see if it's a 100% drop.

i ran a train around on level two of the hill once. waited 5 minutes then prepared to start another train... low and behold there the NM stood, but in pos I-8, not I-9 as stated above in his description. Just wanted to inform everyone so you don't sit in I-9 only and have someone else kill it :O)
EDIT: yes i got the GKTN too, must be 100% drop or we are all very lucky lol

So, could a level 29WAR (deleveled after job quest) kill this thing with low defense gear and a level 20 sword with sublevel WS?
I don't really care about dying again as WAR but if I can't kill it I might as well not try and die.

Man that was easy, about a 30 second fight.
Mighty Strikes->Red Lotus Blade at 300% TP=250 damage, a few critical hits and he's dead.
Got the drop too, geuss it must be 100%

A level 29 anything would not have trouble with this NM. I just killed him with my 45RDM/15THF, and the total damage was 404. A warrior would have no trouble at all. Also, I got the katana, further proving the 100% drop rate. Has anyone ever fought this NM and NOT gotten the katana?
RAWR i must be doing something wrong... i camped each floor for about 2 hrs each and no pop ANYWERE!!!

Has about 450 hp, which I suppose would be quite a bit if you were exping there.
I was lvling my smn with a blm ls mate. his blm was 8 and my smn 7. so we are resting on floor 3. the one under teh highest lvl in 1-8 and he pops behind me. me: wtf is this *checks* imposiable to guage..... *i rush back to bastok to change to my 60 whm and race back and he is still there with my friend pokeing him so i kill him and it goes down in 3 hits and i get the GK. my friend asked me if i wanted it and i said sure. and we just where killing gobs, bats, worms, and a sheep once and a while. I'll have to go back for the fresh blood.

As previously mentioned, this NM is easy, however, he can become difficult if you aren't prepared. Of course, if you are LVL60 nothing to worry about, but depending on job, a LVL10 might have preoblems if not done correctly. Carnero spawns on the second floor of Vomp, and if EXPers or farmers haven't taken them out, usually spawns between or around 2 other sheep. Since sheep link there, fighting 3 sheep with high DEF and ATK for the area's level speels doom for lower levels. Take out any other sheep and aggroing mobs before fighting Carnero. If you are on Asura, give me a /tell sometime as Romashka, if i'm not busy i'll PL you through it for the drop.
I initially saw this guy when zoning out of Bastok. I was a level 8 BLM at the time, and saw that this was an NM, and figured there was no way I could take it. But I came here, looked up the info on it, and then went hunting for him on the hill as a 13 WAR. Took me about 30 minutes to find him, and killed him pretty easily. I totalled up the damage I did to him once the fight was over, and it was 542 HP. I used my 2 hour, though I think I could have taken him without it, to be honest. Fight wasn't that close. I had 112 HP left at the end.
He did drop the GK, so it is a 100% drop rate. And consdering this guy can easily be soloed at a low level, I can't imagine why a 10 SAM would not have this. Easy to find, easy to kill, can be done at low level, guaranteed drop. It's great.

I was just walking around the hill going up to the top to do a quest. Then I saw him and checked it. Said "Impossible to Gauge!" so i knew it was NM so i rested up to full and try and kill it, I died of course, but then came back with warrior and owned his ***.
Okay finally got the drop for about 2hrs camping it. Finally got frustrated and came here to see if I was doing anything wrong. I was killing sheep all throughout the 2nd lvl and also at the very top on the 3rd. Finally I just sat and rested at the 3rd lvl and came to read up. Well I see that it spawned right on the P on the 2nd level, so I was like hey that's just down the hill... sure enough when I get back and decend down the hill there he is waiting for me =/ . Took longer than the other sheep naturally, gave 20 Exp as a 19 War. GL to you others! :P

This NM had to be one of the most annoying NM EVER!!! Such a pain in the ***. I'll describe my situation.
Since i heard all sorts of rumors about the sheep i tried everything i could find. Pissed me off. I found the sheep on the 2nd level of Vomp hill just as described. He spawned right behind me. It's completely lotto pop, so i spent all my time killing sheep. In the end it took me about 2 + hours to find it. Killing it was the easy part. The katayama ichimonji is 100% drop, but it's not the fight that pisses me off, it's finding the sheep.
So to all of you who are going to try and find this sheep, GOOD LUCK! PATIENCE IT A VIRTUE SO DON"T EXPECT IT TO COME OUT SOON!!!!

This has alot of HP for its lvl.. i'd guess around 500-700. I do beleive its a 100% drop.. got mine on first kill. This hits a bit hard, but its DEF is poor.

been camping up here forever...not a single sighting yet...been doing nothing but killin sheeps and stuff...

I just killed him and got the drop, from the looks of things we can confirm the 100% drop rate, but, I don't think he has a spawn timer.
I think he's definately a lotto pop; I needed sheep meat and the AH was out, so I went to Vomp Hill to get some and camp him. He popped after the third set of sheep, I-9. Killed him and /pol'ed to check where I needed to use the Fresh Blood I got from another sheep; logged back in, killed a few more sheep, and there he was again! He respawned on the next pop, this leads me to believe that he is a pure lotto pop, and isn't on a timer at all.

I would estimate it at being lvl 11-13, as I stumbled across while a 16 nin and was able to solo it. It has a TON of hp though.

Carnero spawned on the 2nd lvl of Vomp Hill. It took me 1hr 45mins of killing Ornery Sheep (and some Gobs and bees for the heck of it) before it popped. It spawned right on the "p" in Vomp Hill written on the map (NE corner of I-9, I believe it is).
Parse of the fight said I did 444 dmg to it, though it's likely to have closer to 400 HP (I've seen it listed as having 360 HP, I dunno).

Killed after loosing LL to a Jp thf. Killed sheep PH on the top of the hill, after 2 rounds Carnero popped down on the Lvl below me, so if camping this I'd recomend having /rng or /bst for widescan. Pretty sure this is a 100% drop. Even though my samurai is 71 this will be fun for those Diorama Ghelsba Lv.10 ballista's XD

ok first off, carnero IS a lottery pop
im ALMOST possitive the sheep on the top level of vomp are his place holders
ok for starters, he always spawns at the top part of I-9
the sheep on the top of vomp spawn every 3ish vanadiel hours
after their deaths carnero has a chance of spawning exactly 1 vanadiel hour after their deaths
in case the other two sheep are place holders and it was a coincedence 3x in a row, the sheep by the rock spawns every 2:20 vd hours
and the sheep by the tree every 6

well i was gonna go fight the new NM in dangruf wadi as u know u need a fresh blood to trade to the "???" as i was farming the ornerary sheeps drop it i turned from the corner and there he was so i killed it and got the drop P.S. hes really easy at 16+ like even 15-

Just snagged this guy earlier, took a few snaps of it. Got the drop too, I was suprised at how much HP he has. Is probably along the same level as Leaping Lizzy, 10-12 I'd say.

I camped this guy today.. no one else was camping which was great... killed all the sheeps on the second level of vomp hill for about 30mins he popped, i killed, got drop ^^
