this thing doesn't drop any items. none. zippo. nada. it only leaves behind a "???" that you click to get the Dash Sash in the 2005 event.

Actually, the chance of you getting knocked to your HP is based on how strong you are and if you are turned around. If you turn around you have less a chance of getting knocked, if you are lower level you have less a chance of getting knocked. Yes I have tested this theory.

I just created a new character, saw this guy and thought hmmm... free flight back to HP. I hadnt changed HP from the origional HP at the entrance to East Sarutarburta (sp?) So it hit me twice... hmmm i didnt get kicked back? Hit me a few more times... Nothing... I took 30 hits no HP or fly to another area... So from what I have observed if u make new character and dont chage HP u can kick this things *** without ever HPing
are my pictures getting sent to alla?

when event first started me and linkshell decided to get everyone sashes (red and dash) so we started camping it out and got info.

First off Miuras pop a lot more frequently in the areas near jeuno; in Batallia Downs yesterday (on Leviathan server) a Miura popped 3x in a row. Also, "generally" if you're faced away you wont get warped.

and as for its HP, we are guessing it has a GOOD 20,000 because we had a BLm71 Blizzaga IIIing it for 1100-1500 and it was barely denting the HP.

I was leveling my Ranger at the Fumaroles, as i saw the Toro with widescan. Me and my friend ran there and saw people hitting it.
I shot some arrows on it - skilling up - and suddenly it turned around and kicked me. I got a free-flight from South Gustaberg to Lower Jeuno ^^° HP was Bastok Markets.
Another day i kicked it at entrance to Bastok Markets... Free flight to Windurst Woods, another day to Southern San D'Oria.

I still dont know how it works, i havent done more than 100dmg, with my pally i did holy on it, ~200dmg, didnt warp me.... just after about 10kicks...

From what I have come to understand, the Miura is pretty rare, at least in Sandoria, I've killed 12 buffalo straight in a row, and everyone was Toro. I'll try to set it into a concise little guide for those of you that care.

Warp Information: Whenever you do 100+ DMG, it seems to warp you. Now I've heard alot of people being warped to other towns, which may be true of jeuno or what have you, but I and all those in my party who have been fighting it have NEVER been warped anywhere outside of Sandoria South, which is where we binded. We are sometimes set to the East Ron Gate, rather than the West Ron Gate that we binded, but it's still the same city. I was binded in Jeuno, got hit, and was sent to Jeuno, maybe I just have really good luck since I binded.

Also, after a set amount of time, it will eventually warp you anyways, the longer you hold hate, the higher the percent or rate of warping seems to rise. I only voked it 2-3x on PLD, and after about 2min, it prompty sent me back to Sandoria again. One last note, the warp isn't instant, it happsn after you stop moving around the "stunned" period where you can't move much after you've been pushed away, so if you can have it hit you into the zone, you'll also be safe.

Tactics: Get it near the zone, have Black Mages nuke and zone or let the buffalo hit them into the zone. Rangers same thing, anything that deals over 100dmg seems to get booted rather quickly. As previously stated Melee are only good for keeping it within range for the Rangers, Beastmasters, Summoners, and all other classes that can do damage from a distance. The whole "must not face it or you'll get booted" rumor is a lie, you can face it sideways, backways, every which way you please and it will not alter if you get warped or not."

Additional Information: Toros has around 8,000HP I've checked this several times, on every single one I've fought, and adding in the small melee damage everybody does, it's roughly this. Toro/Miura also seems to pop directly after it spawns, there doesn't seem to be a timer, and it can pop anywhere on the map, although on the West Ron map it likes to pop near the Outpost - Southern East Ron zone. One last thing, no debuffs will work on it, sleep, paralyze, blind etc. It does no damage, and anybody can attack it, just like mobs in Dynamis. I hope I've helped to clear a few things up, and help anybody who wants to do this.

I've found that acid bolts actually work status-wise. I would stand at the zone line & hit him with an acid bolt, then zone. I could zone back in just quick enough to see, "The Toro's Defense Down effect wears off." not word for word, but I can't remember exactly how it says it >.<
Just FYI

I kept casting Banish 2 on it with my 41 whm. I did this in Sandy btw. Some times It would warp my to the East Ronfuare Gate in North Sandy. I did once tho get sent to my HP in jeuno >< I had to wait 10 mins for the sandy ship to get there but I got back just in time to grab the Dash Sash. All I kept doing was waiting for it to come back to the gate zone cast Banish 2 and run in the zone before it would warp me. But I got both Sashes now. ^^

I got both Sash's the day this event began. Now i use these things as handy Teleporters. I figure if the Jeuno AH is too expensive, ill set my HP, and go and thwack the thing till it sends me to another city. Nobody seems to care when a 62 DRK keeps running out and shaving off 300hp at a time. Its Quicker than an Airship and the beautiful thing is, its free.

ok so i decided to stay up late and get the damned dash sash. i airship to sandy and switch jobs to something low lvl so i wont attract too much hate. i head outside and BAM there is Miura with about a quarter life left. w00t for me right? wrong. im a lvl 1 rng with no weapon, so im hitting it for zero dmg. everyone else is just sitting there, letting other ppl hit it, so i somehow get all the hate. stupid buffalo starts hitting me all over the place but i manage to turn int ime to not get warped... then bam he hits me while im resting a minute later and zoom im back in jeuno just as this rat ******* dies.

this is typical of most SE events: kinda neat at first, but overall is stupid.

Well, I must say... not SE problem if you didn't set your HomePoint in Sandy. And second, I can't understand why you need to change to lvl1 job and third, why you don't stay in jeuno zones for Toro and Miura.

Well, say SE's events is ****** cause you're too stupid to get the event item. I don't think SE can change anythings in this case. SE is doing great. Just got too many stupid players in this game who gonna complain too much.

I'm sorry!

no its not SE's fault. but the point isnt that it was SE's fault. the point is, these events are typically so bizarre, its hard to eally just sit and enjoy them until youve mastered it. at first the swimsuits gave me a serious headache, etc. etc.

this event is neat, and better than most, but also seems a little thin. kill it and get a sash that you could have used back when ur pld was level 10. ok right on, its neat yeah. not great.

and it will get old, like every other event. when sunbreeze first started i thought "holy awesome!" with fireworks and decor on trees...
by the time they extended it i was ready to shoot me some moogles.

and hunting in jeuno zones is just asking for a warp. you will get warped to one of two places: a major city, or your hp. my major city is sandoria. my hp was jeuno. i had planned on changing it but i stepped outside and saw it was miura.

also the lower job will cause less hate against me so i can get more hits in and spend more time there without getting warped. reasoning is not without logic

Wrong you fool, I was sent to Sandy when my homepoint was in Lower Jeuno. Then I was sent to Upper Jeuno. You must of not done this alot or just hang back and not get hit much. It really sucks when you get sent 5 zones away. Though I wouldn't blame this on SE. Don't use a scapegoat. At least we get events.

the skinny
# Aug 31 2005 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
ganked and cross posted from my post in Blitz Buffalo news thread

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got both sashes and promptly threw my 'Red Sash' (dropped from normal Toro), it's pointless if you get the 'Dash Sash' which is dropped by Miura, which seems to spawn as a lottery spawn in place of the normal Toro bull. It also seems that Miura will spawn in the 3 zones connected to Jeuno, Battalia Downs, Rolanberry Fields and Sarmongue Campaign at the same time. I got Bullwarped from Rolanberry Fields to Sandy and came back via warp cudgel to find it dead. Fortunately someone whom I helped get the bull in Rolanberry fields told me that there was another in Battalia Downs. I found it and pulled it back to Jeuno and dispatched it with the help I shouted for just inside Jeuno on the first Bullcharge.
Incidentally, any non damaging attack is good for pulling it. I use shadowbind. Ive seen a THF steal from it, to pull it. I've had Toros charge me from almost Pashow Marhslands right upto the gates of Jeuno. If you damage it, it will eventually Bullwarp you you. It seems the more hate/damage you draw/do the more likely it is you'll get bullwarped to the outer cities.
Standing on the zone line is the best trick as previously stated. The zone will trigger before the 'Bullwarp' will. The WAR and WAR subs have a great deal of fun being human ping-pong balls whilst everyone else unloads for the zone line. The point to stress here is DO NOT damage the bull (Toro or Miura). You do not get Bullwarped if you do not damage them. NON DAMAGING ATTACKS, for all hate holders/pullers.
Killing it, from the zoneline, is easy, anything with range is great, BLM's and RNG's have a field day with big hits. SMN's and BST's have an equally good time. Melees... sorry fellas, just sub or main WAR and become 'the ball'..:) Voke to your hearts content.
Anyone is free to hit it. No matter whom the current claimer is. Pink, red, yellow, no matter, you can attack it. Mind you, if it's red to you, you have successfully landed an attack, which means that if it gets far enough down its ********* it will charge you. If you have damaged it, you better be on the zoneline, otherwise you're likely to be taking a holiday. If you didn't damage it, it will still charge you, but not warp you.
An amusing event, well worth the trouble if you need the item/s.
What's also fun is the bull attack effectively gives you about half Chocobo speed. People following me had trouble keeping up with me and the bull as I led it across Rolanberry fields.
Oh... and Bullwarp is a great way to get to the outer cities..:P Shame about the randomness. Shame this event wont be a permanent fixture. Beats deathwarping and Airships..:P
Does this mob pop in place of the toro? I took about 2 hours to run up to Toro and Guillotine him and repeat until I finally got my Red Sash. With Last Resort and Souleater I did 1243 DMG, but it only took his HP down about 8-10%. So it's best to have a few friends help you out with toro.
It's a lotto pop, so i've heard. Toro is it's placeholder. also, when they hit you, 80% of the time it will be your HP or nearest town, and if you do less than 25 damage to it, and run away and not face it when it hits you, the chances for being warped are reduced, i used Dia on one ran away and it hit me 5 times before i was warped
