History of Stroper ChymeStroper Chyme was once one of the most heavily camped monsters in the game, back when it used to drop Archer's ring, an item used to make Sniper's ring. However, in July 2005 -- in an effort to thwart the profits of RMT -- SE changed Stroper Chyme so that the monster no longer dropped the Archer's ring. Information on that update, which affected other notorious monsters and items, can be viewed at July 19, 2005 Update Notes. Stroper now drops the Shikaree ring, ex duplicate of the Archer's ring that cannot be used in recipes. Stroper can also be found at G-9 and H-10. I have a question about his spawn points. If I enter by the lake in the Plateau is that the easiest spot? He spawns at H-5 by the stairs right? Or am I in the totally wrong spot?

Ok there have been alotta posts saying "How the hell do u reach this thing..." Well PLZ someone post where and how to get to this mob. I've gone pretty far into Ordelle's and found nothing...

Im on the carbuncle server, and both spots are ALWAYS camped by ******* bots 24/7. i will never get this ring, i will never even kill a stroper
Im on the carbuncle server, and both of these are camped, 24/7 by some japanese bots. Im so pissed off.
Possible to get Archer's Ring off this thing, probably... But I'm officially 0/100 and I'm not convinced. /em Cries.
I do like how I can outvoke pretty much anybody that comes along in North American prime time hours (JP is another story)... I've been called a bot, and I've had a GM call on me. Very funny stuff, the ultimate compliment I suppose.

Of all thes times I a have camped this, I officialy give it the VIP title. Bots are on this thing 24/7. I am currently 1/89 with my 52 thf/blm(nin)- yes I can solo it. I heard there was a rumor going around about using your tp during the fight. Meaning, ws= zero drop rate. I think it sounds alittle quirky but better safe then sorry. Still 1/89 I mustive been doing something wrong. ~~^~@
i got 1 ring last week after camping it for about 6straight hours (not counting all the failed attempts before) i plan on having 5 rings in my inventory or more before i leave :D

a lvl 52 WHM/WAR could solo it, im lvl 60 and i solo it with ease, im sure a lvl 52 could kill it.
What lvl could a BLM kill this guy? Also, should I go as BLM/WAR for voke or BLM/THF for Stun/TH

i tried to camp this thing as a lvl30 THF at the time with a 53mnk and 30war. but i wasnt fast enough =( a party of maybe two or three 60+ THF/WAR and some type of mage were runnin in and out, killing this thing. they voked that poor slime like mad. i had no chance lol. then two bombs spawned, aggroed me and the war, then self destructed leaving two dead bodies... hehe.

a level 44 dragoon can solo it. I've done it before, but it will be a very close fight you'll have about 80 hitpoints left when it dies.
a WHM/WAR can't solo it at 52
yeah im a 53 drk and it gets hit me hard just think what it will do to a whm/war
maybe thats because a WHM/WAR dont have black magic to nuke him.

could a lvl 40 DRG solo a stroper chyme?
WEll my group and I sat at bottom of ledge and got it 3 out ot 4 spawns wihin an hr. All had TH and all we got was 1 slime oil, 1 water crystal and 1 ordelle's chest key. Still tryin for that ring. I need that gil to help with equip. upgrades

Since Stroper is a jelly type guy, he is very resistence to physical attacks. I'd say a any lvl 50+ wit a decent weapon can kill him. But u will have low life and not enough time to run to other spawn spot to get him again. A mage prolly around 45+ could solo it as well.
Im a 55 blm, i can kill Chyme in about 2-3 spells, then move on to the next place. Btw the spawn where its an open room (not the stairs), 2 bombs always spawn there. So if u see them die, just spam like crazy, also watch the weather sometimes for Wind or Water, about 10-20 sec the weather is up, a elemental will spawn in the area about 80% of the time.
Last thing, at where the stairs, i've once kill the Chyme(about the middle of the stairs), no drop. Then looked at the cliff(at the bottom of the stairs) and saw him again. There is sorta like 3 spawns spots for him. I only seen it 3 times which the Chyme spawned directly beneath the cliff. Anyways, has anyone else seen this

Some people in Kujata, are trying to say that i'm using a bot on this monsters.
I feel sorry for them since they are just telling me to leave or they'll call a GM, and i stayed ther and no GM :(

yeah i put a bat asleep in the middle of the room and they said they were going to call a GM on me lol
this has happened to me at spook, and i have been reported twice. The GM will send u a pop up message that asks u something, and u select yes, no, afk (i dont know how u would select afk ><). then after u i selected one, he sent me a message saying "Please respond to this message with 'Hello'" i did, and he told me "thank you, have a good evening."
so if ppl acuse u of using a bot, tell them to report u, and let the gm handle it.

but what if someone is botting at the keyboard? GM can't really do anything about it then either i suppose. As long as you answer those questions.
then there's nothing they can do about it, and as such SE doesn't really care
gil farmer on asura camps this thing 24/7 now...gets it almost every time too some times by their self sometimes with a full pt
i know sanjin campes stroper 24/7 they said there is no need for sleep sanjin got killed and deleveled the other day

I charmed it last night and had the JP campers auto following me around the whole zone lol.
