History of Stroper ChymeStroper Chyme was once one of the most heavily camped monsters in the game, back when it used to drop Archer's ring, an item used to make Sniper's ring. However, in July 2005 -- in an effort to thwart the profits of RMT -- SE changed Stroper Chyme so that the monster no longer dropped the Archer's ring. Information on that update, which affected other notorious monsters and items, can be viewed at July 19, 2005 Update Notes. Stroper now drops the Shikaree ring, ex duplicate of the Archer's ring that cannot be used in recipes. Stroper can also be found at G-9 and H-10. THIS IS SO COOOL!!!. Ok i was farming him like 2 weeks like i said and i stil am and these stupid gilsellers gamegold mamingway iceworrd and others. so me and 10 other people call gm's about gilselers and the gm said we will try and do something so about a week later they got booted. THATS SO AWSOME

Just tried camping iot, seemed not worth it. Couldnt keep up with spawn points or times. Theres different things to use, even considering using carapace +1 then deal with this BS
Well here on Garuda there are a group of gilsellers that camp this thing nonstop
Cafard, Letterboy, Thesky, Pettytheif, Marcsimos, and a few others.
There are different Stropper Chymes all on their own timer so they set it up so that when one dies, they run up the stairs, claim the two in the hallway, run to the other big room and then work their way back. They get four claims in 10 minutes and they just repeat the process. Now I know the conditions of the pop for Stroper Chyme and where he will pop in the large eastern room. To date im 0/11 and i really need one or two drops to update my equipment >< If you are camping this thing its best to take your LS or some friends with you and just watch the spawn points to get an idea of where it will pop.

lol me and my friend was doing ZM 5 and came across many gilsellers here, suddently he spawned infront of me and i attacked it, no drop =/ but on my back he spawned again and i got archers ring :D:D
I've been camping him off and on for the past couple of weeks. At one point my ls had an event of camping chyme. 12 people came and we were about 0/30 on him. Then the other night a thf and I went and camped him and after 2 hours and many claims we finally got the drop. That puts me at around 1/60 or so with a group. 0/16 by myself.

I hunted this guy for 2 weeks straight im 3/100 on him i even partyed with thf's and nothing... this drop has to be like a 5% drop. Anyways it spawns every 5 hours in game time after the death of it. You know when you have to drop down from the holes? right when u get up there take a left drop down in that hole he spawns down there. now when you get up there besides taking a lefft go striaght you will run into another hole but the turn left again then you will drop down and be at the other spawn point.

I was just wondering if i could campe stroper chyme at level 37 drg/war. I dont think so..but if I can id like to give it a shot. Thanks for any answers.

no thats to low.. I am a lvl 46 paladin and it takes me down to about 400hp with 0mp i got 840hp and 210mp... so around lvl 45+ depends what job you are.

Wow, all I can say is wow. I come down to the room with the first ??? for the Drk AF fight, and a Stroper Chyme spawns. My party gets the claim, we kill it, and BAM. Archer's Ring. I was shocked. My first Stroper Chyme, and I get an Archer's Ring. Meanwhile, I've killed 60+ Oozes in Beadeaux, with Treasure Hunter, and not a single earring. Go figure.

lemme just give u an update, now on Ifrit Chyme is camped 24/7 by Drivers, Namegoto, Namealso, Lexy, and Randol. but i usually have a pretty easy time getting the claim using Dia, i'm sadly 0/24 now

I'm in Ifrit too, you forgot to add Lexy, Lijian, Benxiong, Mashimaroa, Dar and a few other ppl. Camped 24/7..trust me, I camped it 5 months ago..same ppl, always there.
The new update helps a lot against these Stroper Chyme campers though, I manage to get a few claims once in a while.
Try the big rooms downstair to beat his Chi Blast.

Hmmm. It will be hard to beat Chi Blast if you are using Provoke. Chi Blast is quicker.
Try the Dragoon trick <pulling out wyvern so camper targets wyvern> if the camper is using target npc macro. Or use a friend to train mobs on the camper so that targeting the Stroper becomes more difficult.
These methods may seem to be unethical to some, mainly because it was the gil-sellers who introduced them. But, in response to your question, they will work.

there technique is easy to spot, there all MNK/THF and they time each spawn. then when its -30s to pop, they activate flee and run around the place and as soon as they see chyme, they do chi blast. most likely they also have 2 macros

I'm on Ifrit server as well. Other day I went out there with a 3 man party run at these things while the majority of the gilsellers happened to be there. Once they realized my 3 man crew was for real, they were able to get the claim on 2/3 and then proceeded to actually force "Charm" their claims and run off with them so as to a:) **** us off and b:) to alter the timer so only they new the time of death. They proceeded to maintain 2/3 charmed for over 1 hour. Thus this forced my party into bottlenecking on 1 spawn and all but the 2 charming sellers followed. 3 vs. 7 sellers + other campers= BS! After staying for a couple pops we left VERY frustrated. The next day I went back there again while most the sellers were there, but this time I had a trick up my sleeve... my newly downloaded Fraps program. I proceeded to get 3 solid recordings of them claiming and then proceeding to and finally successfully "Charming" the chymes. Then, like the night before they would run off with the claims. FYI the sellers that were there that I know of for sure were Old, Openf, Lijan, Benxioung, Mish, Heye (not sure if seller but partied with them so I am assuming), and a few other sellers but their names escape me. Have any of you on the other servers or on Ifrit ran into this issue with the whole "Forced Charm" thing on your servers??? Oh and 1 tip I would offer as a semi-side note is to sub Bst if it isn't over lvl 15. If your Bst is higher than 15 as a sub you are starting to risk charming the chymes. Also charm, from my experience camping this, is faster than provoke and slightly faster than chi-blast. But it seems to me that chi-blast can be used from farther away but I need to test this more with a mnk friend of mine. G/L and happy hunting.

I am not sure about you can camp it or not. Because it will prolly be ep to you at lv40, and it is not that easy to solo an ep past lv30. You need voke if you want to camp it, so you can't sub whm or rdm to improve soloing. Even you can kill it, resting will be a problem for you. You will get aggro by the higher lv gobs in the cave too. So be careful.
Think i can camp this? i'm a lv 40Drk/20THF. I'm pretty sure i should be able to camp this, right? I really want to get this so i can ask someone to craft me snipper ring. I don't want to lv my drk past 40 tilll i at least have 1 ring. I'm on the Diabolos server and my names Whiteazn if anyone wants to join or help, send me a tell or message alwasy looking for new friends.
no you cant camp this at lvl 40 stroper is ep at 44-45 & the gobs and stropers in that area are all ep until 46-47 46 for gobs and 47 for stropers and chyme isnt 2 weak til 47 also. youll get agrro the whole time and wont be able to lst.

should be atleast 50 to camp it..most the gil sellers are 50+ anyways so there is your answer anyway, i camp it alot im like 12/376+atleast on it on sylph...its still pretty easy on my server to get claim cuz i have camped it so long and figured out a spawn patern..good luck!

ok before u say stuff on boting just stfu. I had a bot and i know how it works. and alls it did was take the fun outa the game so i quit it. now aywayz back to the botting. botting is only good if there r not many targets. a bot basically scrolls through every target in ur view till it sees specified mob and vokes it. its very quick but if there r like 10 people it goes slower, 15 people slower, and so on, spamming is actually faster just more tiring, i got stoper alot but now i plan to head back without bot to try good luck guys

For the people that camp this thing on Ifrit....I'm sure you know the notorious gilsellers that camp him 24/7 (aka Lijian, Old, Wujiawen, Asian, Ninanina,Openf (sometimes Old.)

Well, I haven't camped him in a while, but a while ago my pld friend and I camped him and every 2 hrs we would ***** them over. the trick (I'm sure alot of people know.) is that when they get it, wait till they get a little low on health and then get the pld to cure III or IV them. and then make him use Invincible it will get HUGE hate and run away in one direction and they have to chase it, and if it gets too far away.. it will unclaim and you can steal it one time we made them call for help. lol anyways if you try this it's pretty fun. Good luck

got lucky to get it 4 times bu they get it the rest. something really needs to be done with the gil seller, how many complaints does it take for them to do something.

Due to a dear friend of mine, I'm quite short on gil, and I need alot of money for lvl 60... anyway, never camped stroper chyme, but I'm going to give it a shot though. the only question is, what are the spawnpoints? I heard about a new patch, and I know there are alot of bots down there (word comes around)..

Kujata sounds much like Bahamut. Some gilsellers have gone MIA but there are still enough to be a headache. I got it twice today by luck... new spawn points. 0/2 >.<
Can I take this mob as a 48 Rng/ 15 Thf.? I would make sure I had <barrage> available,Would I have to use my 2 hr? How much hp this mob have?
I need to get one of the rings for my Rng and would prefer to compete by camping. I just don't want to get trashed if I try.
Also, would it be better to pull with <shadowbind> against the Drg gillsellers? I think my bow would be too slow.

This is a message to let you know how I just died. First of all, I'm lvl 44rng/22nin. I got to his spawn area (thanks to the new patch, I don't have to be near the gobs that are EP to be near stroper chymes).

i just got my first archer ring today with a ls member.we were killin the napalm guys then all of a sudden it pop right behind me i got it and we took it down, but i have to have help because i subed thf instead of my usual ninja (which with that i can barly take em). i was a lvl46war/18thf and my friend was a lvl50mnk/25th. the best way i can say doing this is by teamwork so u can cover all the areas where it spawns.

Why dosnt any one try to organize a big hunt on these crippaling the Gilsellers ans make some cash on the side for you. me and my ls are trying to do our 3 round in there right now and so far we each made a good money off of it. so go and give it a try

Today there was a level 60 Warrior down in Ordelles on the Asura server. I will tell you that out of all bots he is the WORST meaning he knows where it spawns DIRECTLY. I reported him to a GM and the Gm like always, Helpdesked me and said we will investigate this matter further. Of course that means that they don't want to help at all >.>.
You obviously do not know what a bot even is. If your competion knew "where it spawns DIRECTLY" and was running to the spawn locations then it was not using a bot. Chances are that you, like most whiny people, cant stand that someone has more skill and beats you every time.
I have had success claiming mobs in competition and have been accused and reported as a gil selling botter. The truth is, I have no desire to sell gil, and have never used bot software. But, I am good and I need gil to play this game so I camp. Whiny people complain because they think that things should be easy for them. Everyone finds their niche in this game. Just because they are better than you at something doesn't make them a cheater.
Finally, I realize that I am blasting pretty heavily on you. Realize that it is not meant as a personal attack because there are many other whiny posts just like yours. Yours just happened to be the one that I was tired of hearing.

if your on Kujata i wouldn't even think about camping this thing. always 15-30 gil farmers camping every spawning point. and if your on Kujata STOP BUYING RINGS!!! more you buy the higher the price goes. i really don't want to see snipers go up to 1m again like they were not long ago.
does thids guy spawn in places where the tregular mobs are not high lvled. like for example. he use to pop in areas where beetles and bombs sometimes aggroed me. i could still solo stroper with little trouble but an add on would be deadly. so i would like to know if he pops here leechers and wabbits are lol.

i wouldnt try it befor lvl45...
with lvl42 drg i barly did it, on the second i died, with lvl50 drg i can finish them of in a few seconds

no he is a slime family mob means high def. to melee hits. melee can farm them at 50+ pre-50 wouldn't be able to farm them well enough. (should be noted every gil farmer in the area are lv. 50's)
