A: Incinerate damage is based on the crawler's HP. So if you have a thf, it's best to SATA SC on the tank first off every battle for over 1k damage. Incinerate will only do 400 tops after that. Somehow fighting these, you need to do great damage right away without killing anyone from hate control ^^.

2: Dispell the damn cocoon. Some parties here makes me wonder if they've been power leveled from the dunes up to here. As a ninja tank, I'm going to craft myself 2 yoto +1 for these for bad parties.

Was just xp'ing off of these from 65-66 the other day. They are decent XP and you can take the bats around there too to keep the chains going. Jet Stream is no big deal once you get ready for Incinerate.

The "Incinerate" move will cause you some trouble if you are not on top of things. The first few it did only did 80-100 to a lvl 65 PLD with barfire up. Then it popped 870 damage, which will really shock you when you drop from ~1200HP to 300 some in one hit. They also have double attack, so an Incinerate followed by a double attack is brutal. If you have PLD tank I'd make double sure to have a WHM with Cure V, otherwise you'll have a hell of a time keeping hitpoints up without pulling hate. If you have a NIN tank, well, hope his shadows are up when Incinerate hits.

Secondly, they go hyper-active in fire weather. They seem to have haste up, and also spam the hell out of their TP moves. Be extra careful when you see that little red symbol :D

I know this post is a little old, but anyways

I have been exping of these recently as a nin tank, and just so you know, incinerate ignores shadows completely

I'm a 71 BST that is currently using these to level on. They con EM and T to me. Never a DC or a VT. So I would imagine 71-73 most likely. They do drop silks, although rarely, crawler eggs, crawler cacoons, and they also drop Fire Crystals, not Earth Crystals.
Beware

These things have dropped silk and crawler eggs for me.

They also have a move called incinerate - did 750+ dmg to my 70 bst. Be warned!

They conned T to me, so I think they prolly cap at 72 or 73 at the most.
Can be charmed

These sleep in the night hours causing them to not aggro. You can tell by the small Z's coming off of their head. During the day they wake up and behave like normal crawlers. Also they do a breath attack called "incinerate"

So far I have killed several and they have never dropped silk threads, only crawler cocoons and crawler eggs.
