I like to research camps before I bring a PT there for my 1st time. So here is some questions.
Has anyone tried to gain exp off of these? Do they have any new attacks or are pretty much just like the pug's in Cape? Nin or PLD ( or both ) work @66-67 lvl pt? MY BST duo partner and I sometimes start party's to create a change in fighting. If camps works out well, I will then take my NIN to it.
If anyone anyone knows a better/other XP mob in the new zones in LVL range 66-67 for party. Tried Sea Puks (as 67)- they are do'able but painfully evasive and only got to chain 4, xp/hr was decent. I think I might try that again after gaining 1-2 lvl's.
Colibri are becoming was to low xp(personnaly I say good until >67), even though they are sooo ez to kill (but still annoying). I love to chain the F outta them, but some people just dont understand XP/hr.
Yep, they're the spots. a little cramped, but no aggro whatsover, as the nearby crawlers don't come near if you pick your spot right.
I prefer these over the crawlers by a long way. They con as VT-IT at 68, and my party was taking them quite easily as 66-68.
Aqua Ball is AoE which doesn't hit too hard (100-200 dmg), this was easy to handle. Recoil Dive is their biggest worry (though it is nowhere near as bad as Incinerate can be). I can't remember whether it is single person or frontal attack, but this did a maximum of 350 to any member it hit (bar the healer, being the lower def i guess). This also eats shadows
The Phasma's (ghosts) that pop in the area are also easy to handle, with them being VT-IT. My party was easily able to handle a fish, then an aggroing Phasma, then a second aggro'ing Phasma, which unluckily killed the tank (he was having a bad day anyways)
Also, it should be noted that there are flies right next to at least one of the camps. They are very close, so watch out for AoE magics, skills etc
found the spot- 1st area is jkl-8 along the cliff. . . Pugs do evasion up , def up, AOE water ball (Str down) and a leaping atk (almost like screwdriver). Area is crawling with crawlers and a few bogy's when night comes. No real safe area for a PT to camp(for pugs), but it a great spot for bst. I came here as BST later on and tried crawler vs crawler fight was long and crawlers seem to have lots of hp. Later on I found the pugs and did crawler vs pug. Worked out great, awsome BST camp. PT's tend to stay near the cave(L-8) and BST near the cliff, so no issues on Pet claiming. For the BST South L-8 K-8(eastern side of K-8) has 3 pugs and 2 crawlers nearby. Convert Crawlers to EM and pull pugs to crawlers homecamp (so they stay and not despawn). Chain 4's can happen on the 3 pugs (Repop fast), crawlers can tear through pugs; even the lowest crawler can beat the highest pug, but will be close (evasion up is bad). Incinerate can do up to ~600 dmg which makes fights fast. @74 some pugs start to become DC-T. --edit-- Dispell on these can help so /rdm - Evasion up can be a problem, the def up isnt to bad.
