These also drop the Colorful Hair, needed for the Ode to Springs quest.

They also seem to drop Avatar Blood exceedingly rarely. Have been XPing here on Bst and got one Avatar Blood vs 2 stacks of Blood Thread.

I exp'd off these as a BST from 72 to 74 in the area where you go for the BLU quest. At 71 they are all still "T" and at 72 they are EM-T. At 75 they are all Decent Challenge, meaning that they are 72-74 in the area where you go for the Blue Mage quest. Other areas may have lower level diremites, as I knew of 70-71 BSTs who found Even Matches.

Pretty nice spot, as they aggro but do not link, making pulls easy. If you pull to one of the hills the angle will be odd but you can avoid any unwanted aggro. AoE is the big thing to watch for, it does around 200 damage if you are BST/WHM, but Utsusemi absorbs it if you are BST/NIN (WHM spell Blink does not).

At 74 you can still chain EMs but the exp isn't as good since most will come up DC. I did manage to get about 5-6 stacks of Bloodthread which sold for about 80K apiece on Shiva, so it was a nice little penny to make while leveling too.
63-65?

Did a 63-65 nin burn off them couple of weeks ago, did quite well.

I wonder what's the level range of these monsters?

Could be a possible EXP camp for a BST... Maybe not...

In a 60-62 PT, I EXPed off of them not too long ago. A few of them were quite tough, so I'd say that 60-64 would be the range in party. That would probably make them about 1 level higher in range than Toramas in Onzozo.

You talking about a Party as in 6-person party? A Party w/ tank, DDs, nuker, healer?

Or

You talking about a BST party? Duo? Trio? Solo?

Anywho, your reply will going to be helpful for present/future use. If these are ITs to a normy party @ 60-64 (you say?) then it's gotta be DC-EM for a lvl 67-70 BST. Just a thought... I may have to check these out myself...

A standard party (Tank, Puller, Healer, Nuker, etc..) can take these in the 60~64 range, a 60 party might have a hard time, but when I exp'd off them we were plowing through them as a 61~64 party, chaining these with the crawlers there and the occasional Ratman was nice exp. On average 210~250 exp w/o ring. I like the crawlers here alot too, gives me a chance to use my FireIII more ^^ Those other ones out in the Thickets are resistant to Fire :( Killing these things is also much better exp over those terrible Colibri (cause the reflect magic) lol
