I've farmed Rolanberry Fields for these guys three times in my entire career. The reason I don't go back is because I can't get the cuttings to drop, PERIOD. I have gotten one bag EVER. I have been here for three hours tonight, and can't get crap. I've gotten three dahlias and one treant bulb.

I'm using 53pld/20thf.

Any tips?

Whoops, missed above Post.. anyway...
35-37 War/THF OR NIN (Utsusimi(sp)
I get 50-60% w/o THF subbed, and 75% with THF though heal 30% more.. Never heard better odds for many other job/lvl setups. Can take 4 with THF subbed and 6-7 with NIN subbed MINIMUM before healing so... 50-75k and hour. Not bad for lvl 35 job. Try it before you post back!

I know you all probably don't care, but finding and killing one of these things are my sub-dream, the main being killing Vrtra/Dynamis lord.(I know, long way to go XD) Allow me to explain.

Prior to buying the game, I was looking through older EGMs. I saw a preview for this game, and one of the screenshots was a PT about to attack a farmer. It looked so awesome. I wanted to fight one. As I learned about NMs, I figured this MUST be an NM, it's big! (I hadn't been past Valkurm. Dhalmels have shown me otherwise) Anyways, just wanted to share that these guys were my incentive to get stronger for awhile.

heres a tip on tree cuttings. Whether you want to make cash or simply grow more plants, plant your tree cuttings but dont feed them any crystals, the outcome (most of the time) will be tree saplings... now these babies sell for 8K a pop on sylph so theres like 4K profit right there, but you could chose to plant the saplings,id suggest go study recipies for harvesting dark ore because these precious items sell for 300K, but with gardening its always a gamble whether youl get the ore or not.

Is anyone having any trouble getting Boyahda Mosses from the farmers? I get plenty from the ones in Pashhow but have had absolutely no luck whatsoever getting a moss drop from these, even after killing 30 or so. A LS mate has also mentioned not being able to get mosses from goob farmers. If anyone has gotten mosses from these, my guess is it may have gotten changed in a recent update; can anyone shed light on the subject?

Ok, so I usually farm in Passhow because the goobbues there die pretty quick (sneak attack, jump, high jump finishes them off pretty quick).
Couldn't find any, so I did an /sea and found about 20 people rng or subbing rng.
I'm in Rolanberry now, trying it out. They don't die as quick, but they still con easy to me. I've killed about 5 or 6 so far with no cuttings, but i got 4 beastmen seals.
Not sure if it's just weird luck, but I usually get at least one drop by this time in Pashhow...and several Boyahda Moss.
Anyhow, I'm gonna keep at it for a while and see how it goes.

For those wondering, if Pashhow Goobbues are overcamped, you can come here at an early lvl and find easy Goobbue Farmers. At lvl 31 I could walk around, look for a Goobbue that checked EP, and take him down with ease. Not many check EP at 31, but some do ^^.

How do you plant a tree cutting and make 40k off of it? I would like to know, because I recently got one of these bad boys to drop me some cuttings.. And if I can do that, I might as well buy them from AH and get profit, no?
They are tough

At 37 war/mnk they were easy con to me so I attacked one. Well it damn near killed me, I was down to 122 life from the 849 I started with. It has a paralyze attack which almost did me in. So be care when fighting these solo.

That makes me sad. Ive killed MANY up till 37War and NEVER took more than 150 dmg. Your Evasion must be... BAD. They shouldnt hit you. Upgrade Everything! hey do hit hard.. but that dont matter if they miss. :) Check Bismarck server.. You'll find a 37WAR Named Aramahk cleaning house and taking nam... cuttings!
Not to bragg, its just not so hard.

Don't underestimate these bubas, they hit HARD (albiet slowly) this means more of their damage will break through armor.. as a 34 Red Mage I often solo a bit to keep defence skills up. and I can take even cons, albiet with difficulty...
Well these guys were doing 48 damage a hit to me when they conned decent... I Gravitied and ran rather than push the fight... ot worth the risk for something that hits this hard...

Oh and they have a WS where they cast Area effect silence. Displacement Sphere or something like that... if you do fight them make sure your mages stay in the far back ranks.
