solo'd some of these at 71drg/whm with no real problem for a pld friend in another room while the rest of my pt fought them elsewhere. for ancient magic i just jumped on them and abused the long casting time while i could >.>
73pld dropped from the pt because he was tired and so did the whm, leaving me and 2 plds who aren't high enough to solo, so i took them to the grid where alot of these popped. got a few links occasionally but there were no more than 2 at a time, spamming tp and dia seemed to help lol, and one of the plds occasionally gave me cure4. but it seems the price for the simple fights was that the key took ages to drop -.-
casted stoneskin and reraise and just started fighting. make sure you have your drachen helm on and a decent amount of mp ;3

I knew these things were a pain but decided to try to solo it anyway because I need the key for my War AF...needless to say I got pwned. No, actually pwned is the wrong way to put it. It was a very even fight till it used Hypnosis and put me to sleep through my shadows. Then it missed and missed and missed and finally landed a hit stripping me of my last shadow...upon doing so it immediatley started casting Burst while I sat there helplessly napping. To no big suprise the spell killed me...and I cursed for a good half hour about the cheating Ahriman and their filthy ancestry etc.
Considering going back as a Thf/Rdm to allow myself the use of phalanx, stoneskin, en spells and silence. Blink as well but to a much lesser extent. I'll post back when I try it out. Gotta get my rdm up a few levels first. Btw my death attempt was as a 71 Thf/Nin.
Edit: Went back still as a 71 Thf/Nin and used NPC...was able to handle the ahriman pretty well then. Got my key to drop and went about my way.

Killed as a 67 DRG/RDM, but was left at very low HP/MP(used a drink for mp refresh), you have to be careful while running from AM, so that you dont get links( because 2 will definately kill you) and keep your HP up, Eyes On Me HURTS, did over 300dmg to me. I wouldnt suggest soloing these guys if you can avoid it, I only killed it becasue I got Aggro.
I can solo at 73mnk/37war but i wouldn't reccommend it. I usually have a pty but i am the tank. Being as how i am mnk i hit fast enuff to interrupt most of its big castings so thats not much of a problem but when he hits you with counterstance on it hurts. I know its cool to say that you can solo something but do what i do bring a mage friend of the same level (mine is a 75whm with capped club) and duo em with light sc's and whatnot. SILENCE works wonders.
A 72 THF CANNOT SOLO THESE!!! Don't try it! You won't survive! I can solo most Easy Prey mobs and a decent amount of Decent Challenges, but these things and their spells, they're awful. My shadows went down, and while recasting Utsusemi it smacked me with Sleepga II then nailed me with Flood and then Eyes on Me for 400ish damage. So yeah it kicked me ***.

this mob is soloable by a 74whm/37nin or at least i did it laster night. although i don't recommend fighting the demons because their double attack + heavier hits eat stoneskin faster... utsusemi doesn't last long. i was able to get a demon about half hp if not less and it was a EM to me.
again the eye is a simple fight i could chain them as whm/nin but the demons don't solo :P

This mob sucks! It's aggro'd me both times I've tried to get coffer and the last time it smacked Bio II on me as I was getting beat on by a Demon (bout 100 hp left), and when I got back to Jeuno via pdodge-warp, I died in front of the AH on my /ja "Flee" <me> towards the mog house.
Sigh...
Got a Raise II and a LOT of attention though so it didn't hurt tooo much.

This happened to my key pt twice today. He'll use Eyes on Me, doing roughly 400~600 to me, then he'll sleepga II, and procede to stonega III or another -ga III for around 600~700, or he'll just flare, flood, tornado, ect. So, please, be cautious of their magic. :P
