If you pull these, they always cast a spell before they come after you and it takes a while and you will prob want to stop for a minute to keep the hate on you but that's not necessary because once they come after you they catch up fast.

If you use Flee like I do, as WAR/THF, don't get caught too far from camp or they will catch up to you and hit the crap out of you before you make it back. If you are on the hill, don't go to the forest and accidentally get hit with a III spell cuz once you are back at camp, you will have BONUS Jnuns to kill at camp!

Bards can sleep these and they are even able to sleep Jnuns. They are better puller for this area despite lack of Flee. I was doing the pulling until I saw Bard do it and asked her to. She did great and I was able to stay with mob dealing damage till mob dead.
Related to the demon class?

These mobs get intimidated a lot by sam.

As sam have natural resistance to demons, i think that imps are related to the demon class of mobs.

Using the sam ja "Warding Circle" I've seen them intimidated by other members of my pts.

Have never had this with any other job I've put through the mire.

I also pt´ed in Caederva Mire 3 times now. When i got my first ivite from a pt there i was like wtf!! DD´s are lv 68 and lv 69, im 66, how can i hold hate lol?? How can get any exp??

Well, after the first kill i didnt believe what i see. Mages 70-80% MP, me 75% MP, not lost hate ONCE in 3 hours pt. And the best? 490 exp for 1.st kill! (with band of course) Sure, the AOE sucks, but the effect doesnt wear long enough to bring danger to the pt. Just take Drops as PLD and you should be able to defend your pt.
The mob didnt took longer to kill then any other mob at this lv range, so we got over 12k exp/ hour.

I think this helps the pld very, because the DD´s cant land that much Ws´and all. In my 3 pt i didnt loose hate do DD ´s. I do that often in other areas... So for me its worth the money for drops, if i can afford it atm...

I started there on lv 66 and have to say it was the best exp i ever got. 500 exp with band is hilarios for somwhat fast kills.

Heres how the fights went for me (PLD 66 /War 33):

Puller pulled > Provoke > Flash > Sentinel > Cure III > Provoke
- after this time the mob did aoe, but np because i already build up hate very well. DD ´s cant land ws now, so i dont even have to worry about the hate. If i get silenced i use a drop and everything is fine.

When amnesia wears off > Vorpal Blade for 200 dmg > Defender > Cure IV > Provoke

It may sound weird, but i never had that few hate problems as when fighting imps. And no matter who i talked to, EVERYONE prefered PLD over NIN for Imps.

easy

we did very well on these as a 66-68 party.
we had 67 pld 66 mnk 67 rdm 67 whm 67 blm 68 war. dia worked on them. silence not so well. gravity sometimes. poison 2 sometimes. used barsilencra on party. mages stoood waaay back and spread out hasted melee. and had echo drops when necessary. we kicked butt for 2 hours. 250-400 xp during that time. easy kills too. loved these things.
also silena on pld dispeled fire spikes on imp altho they recast so fast not really worth it. spell III's could work very well sometimes. weapon skills worked well together. again, awesome party. and got staging point while there. near entrance to undersea ruins at hill just outside mouth of cave. zoned mindflayers when agro'd and overall kicked butt. ok im out hehe

Whenever you die by these Imps a message says:
An eerie feeling of (B_l_a_n_k) comes over you.

I wanna say remorse but not too sure. Anyone know whats the point of this?

These things are really difficult to enfeeble. I have +22 enfeebling (AF body/enfeebling torque) + 21 MND. Silence is very hard to get off without Elemental Seal, and it rarely sticks. Slow and paralyze are a little less difficult to get off, but still hard. They will outright resist Dispel. I'm waiting for the moment I see Dia gets resisted to never return to Caedarva Mire again.

ToAU is way too anit-mage.

Amnesia o.o
# Aug 17 2006 at 8:25 PM Rating: Decent
i havent done enough research yet but i got a theory.
i've been soloing and partying against these as summoner using levi, however i've noticed which 99% of the time amnesia doesnt effect him at all....
this could mean that Amnesia is a water based or fire based spell meaning barwater or barfire could block it.
Can someone test this out and tell me if barwater or barfire works or not
Thanks for reading my post ^_^

actually as i type this i am leveling in caederva mire with a pt of 67'sour pt consists of blu/nin /pld/war drk/thf whm/blm rdm/blm and ME blm/whm all level 67 the kills take about 2-2.5 times as long as crawlers on mount zahlom however with band on jsut gettign chain 3 on these imps yielded 500+exp the aoe silence and amnesia sucks and i get resisted the majority of my casts. you must come here wiht a melee heavy party. to give you an idea my magic skill when casting blizzard 3 is at 278 at level 67 have +42 elemental magic skil in my gear and still get resisted more than 50% of the time. however with thsi pt setup we have been able to handle mobs here for teh last 2 hours with no deaths getting 5-6k a hour. you cannot come here and expect to be lax about killing, but if you have a good group together you can tear through them for some awesome EXP

P.S. this is my first post on alla >.> i am currently blm66 taru on ODIN server i hope thsi post helps someone out :)
great

They have true sight and use blm spells but are weak to phsical attacks. A bard helps for effective DD and a RDM for silence/ gravity to lower evasion. They will cast aga's on the puller and will link very easily due to true-sight and the crowded nature of the camp. They are highly resistant to magic but will take a good fast beating with propper enhancements/enfeebles. I'd say youd get better exp in the low 70s.

These give excellent exp for level 70/71. 212 no chain, no experience band. But SE has found yet another way to make PLDs less desirable. A PLD with no provoke, shield bash, cover, sentinel, defend, rampart, or warcry who is silenced is about as useful in a level 70 party as a 3rd level PUP. Just when SE did something to bring PLDs closer to NIN they do this. NIN would have a much better time with this [explitive deleted]s than PLDs because their hate comes from spells & silence can be removed. The [explitive delede] amnesia can't be removed so the only way a PLD can function is with a THF's SATA & the party holding back.

So who are you going to take the PLD to tank flies at 161 base exp per kill or the NIN to tank imps at 212 base exp per kill?

Well... If a PLD with amnesia can't do Provoke, Sentinel, Shield Bash, etc., a NIN with amnesia can't Provoke.

And I dunno... But I think casting Flash on an Imp keeps hate more than a NIN casting a debuff or an elemental spell.

PLD does just fine against these- that's what Cures are for. I've been in several Imp parties, and I've never had a problem. So long as the PLD uses Cures and Flash, they can tank these with ease.

Was in an exp party of 66-68. The RDM got this bright idea we could exp on these (he told us we would be ok, even though only other party exping on them were all 72's). We didn't have to two hour, but these little bastards are evil. Spamming AGA spells, amnesia (can't be erased), silence, etc. I think they also seem to have a fast cast, as they can cast spells very fast and very frequent. We survived, but not a very pretty battle.

these imps spam AoE silence and Amnesia

Amnesia stops Job Abilities and Weapon Skills.

But i hear theyre good for xp, 1k+ xp for chain 5 with ring up and they die fast

I got smoked on the way to the staging point too... Had already spent a good 30-40 minutes getting there between the boat ride and running around with no map. Finally, I see the door to the staging point and next thing I know, two imps are casting on me.

Times like these are where good friends come in handy... Warped out there and raised me, so in the end I got the staging point.

I should have used a reraise hairpin.... Highly recommended if getting this staging point solo.

BTW.. anyone know if you have to go through imps for the other staging points?

Got aggro'd by a BLM Heraldic Imp while headed to the staging point in southeast part Caedarva Mire. There are 2-3 floating around near the zone to the point, and at 69, they all checked as IT+.

I tried to Sleep/Stun/Run Away, but these things hit so fast there was just no way I could get a spell off between smacks. Four hits and I was facedown in the muck.
meh
