Troll Speculator (L-7) - Mount Zhayolm.
After escaping Halvung I got outside where the map quest is for Mount Zhayolm. I went off to click the ??? beside the hidden marker for the map quest and this baddie named Troll Speculator pops. A peculiar seed marker will pop immediatly after you pop the Speculator. Thereafter the pop I [ES}+Sleep on my 75whm. He slept like a baby.
After clicking the Peculiar seed the message, "There is something that looks like an oddly shaped plant. When you touch it, the seed bursts and sprays you with a shower of liquid! Now you ae covered in a scent similiar to that of rotten food."
The Peculiar Seed popped every 10-15 seconds after I touched the first. There appears to be various messages but didn't test it.

I had looked at the ??? in Mount Zhaylom, near the place you get the map quest for that area, and got the message "You feel a cold chill down your spine..." and out popped this NM showing red/claimed by me. He runs very slowly so you can zone out to Halvung if needed. When I re-zoned in, he was yellow/unclaimed and slowly walking back to the ??? spot along with his automaton he brought out while chasing me 1st time. After a bit I did sneak/invis and ran up near him and he aggro'ed me (appeared red name again/claimed by me) even though I was behind him (out of line of sight) and he couldn't see me (invisible) and not making sound (sneak'ed)... so I am assuming that THIS one is True Sight at least or does he detect by smell also? So off I go to zone again.
I come back back into zone and he is AGAIN waiting by the ??? but now there is another [target] named "Peculiar Seed" there. So I examined the new one and got "The Peculiar Seeds explode and coat you with a sweet and flowery scent..." and immediately after that the Troll Speculator and his automaton disappear / despawn !! And lo' and behold the "Peculiar Seed" target is now gone.
So anyone have an idea for which quest/mission this one is for? I cannot place where I may have gotten it or from which town, but it [the ???] is still there when I go there. Thanks

Troll Speculators are PUPs. The ones in Besieged check as Impossible to Gauge ( cos they all do in Besieged ) but the ones in Halvung range from VT-IT at level 75.
Whenever you see one, he'll likely have his puppet out. They generally check the same as the troll, so if the troll is VT, the puppet will be VT as well. So take care, since there aren't many things more embarassing than getting murdered by a puppet. ^^
Edit: Forgot to add- both the troll and his puppet aggro sight, so invis is all you need to stroll past them while exploring Halvung.

This mob has been know to stand on his balcony and stare at the skys with his back erect for intervals of 30 minets, if diturbed the only fitting punishment is a horrble death....At the Hands of Troll Speculaties! O_o But really what does this drop?
Troll Speculators can be stunned for lenghty periods of time by asking them such mind clearing questions as "If a tree falls in the woods and there are no Gilsellers around to hear it, what the hell is going on ????"
