Everyone who used to camp this, just change your macro to;

/targetnpc
/ra <t>

Get a low delay Bow/crossbow (Rapid Crossbow/Machine, or whatever) and have fun.

Machine Crossbow is the same speed as Provoke. ^^;

1st pop is 20:00
2nd is 23:30 if killed be for 0:00 there will be a third pop itcan pop at3:30+

Just camped Spook for the first time since the August 1st, 2005 update.

I remember reading in the information section that they had changed the way you are able to claim "certain" monsters while using JA's like Provoke and Charm.

And so, no more does the Provoke/Charm spamming session exist for claiming Spook... I know, I tried. :) They also changed a few pop locations of monsters on the other sides of the walls (not readily accessible places while camping Spook) which make those other mobs appear on your NPC targeting when you either TAB or /targetnpc.

Essentially this sucks for those of us who knew how to camp this mob, so I'll just share it now with the world since it really doesn't matter anymore.

Stand facing the back of the Tomb, you want to merge your character with the little twig tree that is directly behind the Tomb. Face the Tomb directly straight. You would have know you were doing it right if you couldn't /targetnpc and get the Tomb itself showing up as a target.

Make this macro:

/targetnpc
/ja "Provoke" <t>

That's it. Let the spam begin. You'd get an echanted bones sometimes, but without doing that type macro you wouldn't EVER get the claim if anybody with any experience was camping it.

Just so's I don't lose my NM hunter membership card, let me re-iterate, you can NO LONGER DO THIS.

There is a built-in delay while camping spook that prevents you from being able to claim this NM with Provoke or Charm reliably. Better just to...(EDITED).

For example: Spook pops. I target spook. It's unclaimed and visible on screen (weird-usually always claimed by then). I wanna break my keyboard cause I think I've written my macro wrong or misspelled the word Provoke or something cause it isn't firing!

Check the macro, it's perfect. I figure it's a glitch. But, nope. Second spawn, same thing 100% same. Third spawn same.

Decide against suicide as a practical alternative, and check the chat log for how the other campers have claimed it. (Nobody used provoke or charm, by the way)

Found my solution, changed it. Claimed next day 3/3. Of course, hiddeus drop rate Spook (0/3).

Will try again tonight for the drop. If you're on Fairy come on down, let's test out the fastest way to get this sucker now.

nah, i'm not a gil seller, i just do a lot of homework, and spook is the only thing i could camp while doing my homework, 45 minutes of HW 15 of spook. and if you know me on ragnarok i've baught a few of my close friends a lot of very good items. and my current record is 497/1110. This place is getting stingy, this is all with Thf as my main Lv.40 -_-

You can claim it before you can see it. That is how everyone who KNOWS Spook does it, Promise, the PC or Ps2 can "see it" before the video components display it, simple. You will also notice lil red-orange dots all over your "radar" when it does pop, one is the Spook! THEN it will materialize, unless you are with those who dont KNOW, its too late. :) I've already.. i mean they've already claimed it. You must find a way to voke/dia/chiblast/charm BEFORE its visible. I know only one way out side of cheating by file-mob or bot-ware. Oh, and UH, Provoke has beaten others who camp it when I am there.. connection does matter, but claim method is FAR more important. Also, devise a way to NOT get bones, they always pop with Spook and 1st, and before on second, so claim accordingly. The Pro's know a method to claiming with different methods according to environment. Go, Watch, Fail, Learn. That is all. 120k and rising on Bismarck.

if u never tried hunting the spook dont try it u need alot of skill on how to kill it and people got ways to beat u way faster than a cheesy /ja "Provoke" <t> or <stnpc> macro so just dont try im the spook master in Unicorn!

ok here is his pop times from 20-21 23:30- till it spawns most of the time b4 1 and some time it spwans from 3-4. the last pop does not always happen it only happens half of the time.
