Historical Information

The Behemoth first appears in the Book of Job, 40: 15-24, being described as a massive herbivorous creature that lives in swamps, with a tail that moves like a cedar tree and bones as hard as iron and brass. Several contemporary animals have been believed to have been the basis of the Behemoth legend, including the ox, the elephant, and the hippopotamus, though none fit the description perfectly.

It is said in Hebrew legend that, after the end of the world, the Behemoth will engage in a battle with the Leviathan and will kill one another. In alternate tellings of this legend, the Behemoth and the Leviathan will fight eachother, only to both be struck down by God.

Behemoth spwans every 24 hour (earth time), you need to be very high level to beat this NM. Once you beat this Behemoth, you will also get title "Behemoth Bane". Tips to beat this Behemoth:
1. Make an alliance of lv 40-50+. (we made 3 alliance, but the more the merrier)
2. Make sure you have WHM and BRD or RDM (pref BRD)
3. Provoker is needed in case if there is elemental around, or you can cast "sleep" on them.
4. Make sure you know when to camp, you dont want to wait 1 whole day to beat this NM, believe me, i overslept. (hoho)
5. Happy lotting (if u get the mantle or the thundercloud)

It is not as hard once you are lv65+. I think you might solo this NM. The matle it self was not sold in any of Caitsith's AH. So, im not sure how much does it cost to get one because we did'nt get it. Probably we need a THF to get better chance.

I traveled to the spawn zone at level 40 with Sneak/Invis up, but didn't see Behemoth. I hear he has a 60-72 hour (three day) spawn timer, like Steelfleece in the highlands or Bloodtear in La Thiene. I waited there for about 15 min before my friends called me over for BCNM, alls I saw was a couple of IT Thunder Elementals. I didn't really care if I died, I just wanted to get a screenshot :P
I've fought it!

God I remember fighting this thing during beta. Hard as hell, over 100 people went in to fight it, including many level 50+ people. Needless to say, we all died.

Haha, I went into this place while I was bored of waiting around for a pt in Qufim. So I sneaked through the place as a RDM23/WHM11, I didn't care if I died, I just wanted a screenshot. :)
