Sprite Picture

Sprites/Pixies - Flying faeries who appear in WoTG areas.

Contents [hide]

Areas Found

As of yet, I have yet to see any area in WoTG that is not populated by either a Pixie or a Sprite.

Special Characteristics

Pixie/sprites will heal you if you are in yellow hp, and raise III you if you are within range of them. The timer on their heals seems to range from 15~30 seconds, depending on pixie level, and wether it is a sprite or a pixie.

There are downsides to this, though. Pixies have a hate system, similar to Akpallu, Tonberries, and Fomors. They are more like Fomors, though also unique. If you kill a small amount of them, they will cease to heal you and raise you. Killing more, though, will make them begin to aggro you.

The rumored method for clearing Pixie hate is obtaining the item Bottled Faerie which supposedly drops from the Yagudo Theomilitary, then taking it to a spring in Grauberg and releasing the faerie.

Updates

I'll try to keep the info coming.

Wrong.

It's from the first Final Fantasy: To access the Sea Shrine you need a bottle of Oxyale to breathe underwater. Oxyale can only be retrieved by a Fairy from the spring in Gaia, but the Fairy was kidnapped by a pirate and put into a bottle which was sold to the Caravan. You buy this bottle for 50,000 gil from the Caravan Master, and release the Fairy inside. When you talk to her at the spring in Gaia she will reward you with a bottle of Oxyale.

"Pop! A Fairy appears, and is gone."

Does it *SOUND* like Legend of Zelda.

And yes, it does sound like something you'd do in the legend of zelda.

I don't see the point in killing them, do they have some kind of drop? They don't aggro, I think they are kinda cool.

Mages take caution when attempting to nuke these with your Tier IV and III spells- magic hits for zero no matter the strength and I was way lucky to have a zone near me.

That's because they're very resistant to magic. But they're not Immune. They're WHM mobs, and it had most likely buffed itself with Shell & Stoneskin. If you Dispel these, or just break the Stoneskin, you'll find that you can actually hurt them with magic. You'll also find, if you damage them enough, that they spam Cure V & Curaga III at low health and appear to be immune to (or at least highly resistant to) Silence. I also was lucky to have a sone near me, as RDM just can't provide the damage output to out pace Cure V & Curaga III. Also may be immune to or highly resistant to Sleep.
