Vana'diel Bestiary: Doppelganger Dio  

Well... I went in as a 30 THF/WAR and had to suffer through four bomb pops before Dio popped. The little bugger got me down to 300 hp and then used dimensional death for 142 damage. Soon as I hit red hp, I two houred (perfect dodge) and used Berserk. I went crazy on the little bugger and won with a 162/507 hp.

What did I get?

60 xp and a revival tree root. {/cry}

I'll try it again another day with a higher job. >.<

EDIT: Ok, I went as a 48 RDM (other character >.o) and camped this little bugger for awhile. >.< Here's my camp log:

do the NM's spawn in the same room as the balloon's?

[b][/b] ive been here since 1pm est... its now 132pm est and ive gotten dio 3 times, gog 1 time and 1 ballon. isnt so hard.. ive found they spawn every 12 mins.. so soon as i kill one i go to current time in the menu press it to display ToD and do some stuff around the house and come back 12 mins later and a new one spawns every time! =)

im sry if everyone doesnt agree with me on this but i think these NM's are fun i have camped them many times and gotten 3 bomb rings two cruel scythes as well as mnay other common drops from them and balloons

The way i see it is either way u win esppecially since this is near windurst and both bomb arms (balloons and bomb King) and revival root (doppelgangers) are used in windurst quest so therefore they sell for some money revival root the last time i checked was selling for 3k a peice granted its not great but hey its money and it was pretty easy to get

So all in all a day when your bored come down and hang out here for a while and even if u dont get a rare drop youll probably end up walking away with a good 30k or 40k in other stuff not to mention getting some nice windurst fame if you havent done the quests

ok i saw that this area had 3 NMs all dropping good things so i said "hell i have nothing better to do lets camp this stuff"

i get there and run between rooms and killing Balloons when i saw them. finaly my friend comes to help me by spliting up the searching grounds. rules where if the scythe dropped it was mine if the ring or spear dropped,his. ok so he logs out after an hour of killing ballons so i go running around for more Ballons. in the upper right spawn area there he is. i claimed him and killed him easy.. i got a reviaval tree root.. just that. 2 hours isnt worth that.

i cannot find the ruins that these guys spawn in..please help

i cant get dio to show up i've ben here for 2 day and i've seen him 2 times

i have been camping this for about 17 hours now, i have had him spawn 4 times and so far i am Dio 0/4 Gog 1/5 and Bomb King 1/5.
This is has been a very long spawn for me, i have only been able to find one bomb up at a time and have ended up having to kill maybe 8 or 9 to get a NM to sapwn, should u come and do this, bring a book as a precautionary. BTW i am a 31war/14mnk and it is simple to kill. Dimensional death is not anything to worry about much if you got alot of hp, does about 90 to me, and Self destruct is also not too bad but becareful still.

got the drop (scythe) first kill today, within 10 minutes of walking into the place.

his regular hits were doing around 20-35 dmg each, and his WS did 79 i think.. or 75... somewhere in the 70s. i owned the hell out of him with my taru 37drk/war

Well ive been half-*** camping it for half an hour, i need the scythe for my drk. so im campin it on my 54 thf and ive jus been in the room waiting while i take care of som RL matters over the phone. I dunno if i read the map wrong er sumthin but the other guy spawned and i killed it and got the spear lol

was bored in windy decided to see if i could find bomb king. went to the ruins and killed the ballon which was already there waited 8 mins exactly checked wide scan see Doppelganger Dio. ran to the area one other guy was already on that side standing there i even went in the wrong room at first found and started fighting. was getting beat used 2hr got him down really low had 150tp he uses his death hit skill thing kills me. would have won if i used ws then other guy comes along kills him in 1 hit.
