can someone help me ? lol i think there's nothing more to do than keep on killing it and pray....
By the way, between 2 clippers' repop i went to check if Falcatus Aranei was up, and actually it was :) my friend thf and I killed it and i got the drop :) I thank him.

well read this n thought hmmm nice for lving my blu, went to tunnel, killed one crab, about 15 mins later Colin popped, rdm/whm, killed him and it dropped 1/1 so all thsi th stuffs rubbish :P

*This is not a personal story, but a how-to of camping CCC*
Ok, here is some usefull information that I wish to share with anyone willing to camp this crab. This will also be a basic summary of what others have said.
This crab has an average respawn of 2 hours at H-8, and he will only spawn once his place holder has died. The easist way to get to his camp spot is once you zone from the Mines, just walk down the tunnel till you reach the second map. Once on the second map, head to (K/J-9) and go through the tunnel. Just keep going through to the bridge (By the way, do NOT turn into the misty room....on the right.... just trust me...)
Here's where it gets interesting...
From what i've noticed, his place holder has a place holder.
Let me explain, there are two ponds where one crab will spawn at. One North east of the bridge, and one North West of it.

*The (0) represent land, and the (-) represent the enclosed area where water is.
The only place holder for CCC is the NE crab, but, sometimes that crab will not be up, so you must kill the NW crab. The respawn time for the crabs are 5:00 in game hours. (Ex. you kill one at 17:00, the next will spawn at 22:00) The NW crab is directly linked to the NE crab, and both will not be up at the same time once you've killed them. They will generaly alternate, no specific patern from what i've seen. CCC will have the chance to spawn only when his place holder (NE) has been killed. He will spawn anywhere on the bride or around the side. Basicaly, look at the drawing above, and he has the chance to spawn along any line that's been drawn there. My adivce to camping him would be to kill a crab, then go stand at the X, once the 5:00 mark is up, start looking for him. If he doesn't spawn, rinse and repeat. Also, I noticed that sometimes when I first when down to camp him, none of the crabs where up, so just wait till they are, try killing a pugil or something. (that's what I did, don't know if it helped or not.) Also, regarding to the Sea Monk having any connection to CCC spawn, I'm pretty sure he is not connected in any way, but I never killed him, just because I didn't want to flinch and mess up and accidentaly Chi Blast him instead of CCC for whatever reason.
Another peice of advice would be to sub Thf, since this guy has a very, very bad drop rate. I went 1/7-8, and that's being lucky according to some other posts i've seen. I hope this helps anyone that came here to find more information about HOW to camp him instead of Personal stories. (Not saying posting personal stories is bad, just sometimes someone needs to post a little info on him so others can post their own success story themselves =D)

OK, first off, not to be mean, you kinda need to do some research. The clipper itself is the only placeholder. The clipper wont have a placeholder due to the fact he's not an NM. Secondly, Subbing thf wont do anything in means of getting the drop. Its a Rare/ex Item meaning TH wont work on it. You need TH2 to get help on drop. I personally am 0/10 on this thing and still camping. This is item number one on the list of things I need to lvl thf with Empress hairpin being number 2. I hope this reply helped anyone that had questions.
Chronas: How would TH2 help, but TH1 wouldn't? What does Rare/EX have to do with needing TH?

TH1 helps with regular drops, IE Giant Femur off a Dhalmel, TH2 helps with rare drops from a mob. IE Nadrs from CCC. :/

Wow So I went up against this guy. I figured if I could get one I could power my 26 thf a bit. I went to the spawn area killed 1 clipper and waited some 5 - 10 min. thinking about why there was only one clipper in the area and that it took too long to spawn. Funny thing was I fought other things came back and this thing popped right there. I was MNK 50 with about 950/ 1085 hp ...I chakraed and rested a bit before I noticed a 69 drk...I rushed in without remembering to eat anything or switch my neck gear back to Attack+5. Long story short I made too many mistakes going into this and at the point where I was at about 10% hp and it was at 11% hp I decided to flee. This guy is tough. Be smart!

I'm 0/5 on this bast****, i spent hours and hours there; yet i subbed thf for TH, but it did nothing. I got the 1800g, 3 land crab meat or 2 meat + 1 crab shell each time.

I wanted to farm this NM just to say I did and for the sword so Id camp it. The Clipper(Place Holder) has a long spawn so i farmed Jelly as well. On day 3 of ever camping I killed 2 Clippers then Sure enough CCC poped. I am a 57THF and it was cake, Tho, he had tons DEF,VIT and HP.... it was cake. I muged it for 800, and got 1800g at the end, and the drop, along with 2 crab meats. It was fun
Ok I am 1/3 on this guy, so not bad. He always pops after the place holder is killed a second time. After he dies, he won't pop again for 2 hours. So if you kill the place holder more than twice, come back later. This guy is rarely camped so it shouldn't be hard to controll the bastich's pop time. Oh yeah, at least sub thief and use a melee hit to finish him off. As a 60 ranger I ranged attacked him to kill him and regretted it. Good luck and welcome to an exclusive club of sword bearers.
Also, the only, ONLY, place holder is the one clipper in that particular map section. So don't bother with the monk. CCC just really digs the bridge.

first of all i just want to say that i actually had fun camping this thing...even though i couldn't kill anything because i am a lvl 21 THF atm. i'm 1/2 on this dude and from what i've read i guess i'm pretty lucky. the first time around i was with my friend, a lvl 70drk/thf and before CCC popped my other friend, lvl 72blm/whm joined us just because he was bored. CCC did pop just on the bridge and we killed all the placeholders which i believe are not only the Clippers but the Pugils and the Sea Monk, i think CCC actually popped where the Sea Monk spawns, at least that's where he showed up for me both times.
the first time around, no drop obviously we all just had a good time watching the DRK train every damn bat and spider he could find and then WHAM! BLM uses a few -aga spells and they're all dead...
that was good fun.
so no drop that time and the DRK had to go. the BLM took me around to get the Altep crystal and then to Rabao for kicks, i like that place.
fast forward 3 hours.
My BLM friend is busy :( and the DRK has logged. so i ask another friend, 75WHM/NIN to help and she gladly joined me. that time around we had fun killing the place holders and she tampered with with Jammer Leech's and showed them what a WHM/NIN can do, and just how painful hexastrike is. all in all we had a good time :) and the best part was when CCC popped and i got the Nadrs.
oh ya i forgot to mention, maybe the Sea Monk isn't one of the place holders because my friend was killing it when CCC popped and she just turned around to attack CCC and let the Sea Monk miss her alot.

Cargo Crab Colin is evil......i wanted the sword for my thf when my thf was 24 <,< now it's 37 XD my main is mnk 59 he is pretty weak to that but drop rate blows for me quit complainin bout 1/30ish i'm 1/117 ; ; but the nadrs is sooo fun XD

117...i dont think so man that is crazy with an average pop of 3 hours or so thats 350+hours of camping. but if your telling the truth, wow i feel really bad for you.

0/9 just this morning. im a 57DRG/28WAR he went down pretty quick used my wyvern and super jumped to avoild his big scissors. took about a total of 2mins. camping him as we speak got a 41whm there to heal me now just in case. he looks to spawn every 3 hours or so. have to kill his place holder they are Clippers and they pop in the pools around the bridge. when he spawns it should be on either side of the bridge never had him spawn on it. if anyone wants to camp him let me know im on Bahamut.
I got the drop this morning, 1/2 ^.^
He poped on the center of the bridge when I have something like 150 mana. Being paranoid about someone comming and taking claim, I elemental seal + sleep II, and it resists. THAT caught me off guard, so I just aspir/drain melee'd him for a while, was taking too long, manafonted and wasted him. It was fun lol.

I dont know why i even camped this bugger as a 46 drk but i did... believe it or not there was a NICE gil seller around and decided to help me kill it. Well my experiance goes like this, I camp it for 2 hrs and he finnaly spawns and no one is around YAY! so i engage screaming at the Gil seller to hurry up and right when she gets there to help i just bit the dust so i HP go to jeuno pay 10k for a tele (was very very desperate) and run back to korroloka... she is still there hovering over the stupid crab... kills it and no drop... 10k for a tele... wasted ><;;;

CCC is'nt too hard if you have the right stratagy. I personally beat him at 45 by pummeling him with bloody bolts and my 2 Hour. I was WAR/ThF. Would have use the "Sleep bolt, Run behind, SA" On him but they woulldent stick. -Shrug.- Im 0/7 on him now. And It's Frustrating me XD. Get the clipper down so that one or two more hits will kill him, Then switch targets to the sea monk and kill him, You will see the monk pop first, Then start scaning for the crab. (Easier to see that huge thing then the clippers)

I dont belive the sea monk has anything to do with CCC but clipper, sea monk, and pug all have 12 min spawn time and CCC is lottery so if you get lucky he spawns soon if your me you have to wait forever ><. Oh and btw.... 0/4, He has lots and lots of HP and def so even at 56 he eats though my HP cuz it takes forever to kill him but thats with thf subbed. Whm subbed makes the fight much less of a close call but last time I fought him with thf I ended up with 18%HP and I 2hred /sigh

Sweet, I'm a crab! My name is Colin in real life, I came upon this guy on the website and was pretty excited when I found out there was a Notorious Monster with my name. Also, he drops a nice sword, so that's cool too. I want to kill this guy, so anybody know if there's a way to get him to pop? An item to a ???, kill a certain amount of monsters in the area, is he fished up, or does he timed, and pops every so often? Please let me knooooow. ^^

From what I'm told from my friends (so please don't flame me if I get something wrong), CCC is spawned from killing placeholders. The placeholder are Clippers in the area near the Jammer leech room. Either he spaws or another placeholder spawns 12 minutes after you kill it. From what they told me, don't kill the Sea Monk in the room, it causes the time for CCC to spawn longer.
He has alot of HP or high DEF, either way it takes some time to kill him. He usually drops a pretty good amount of gil. I got 1800 from him last time. So good luck, Colin (not the crab) and hopefully you get your sword. ^^

ya im 2/2 on this guy, camped him for fun, none of the jobs that can use are low enough for me to need it, but its purty looking and it was a fun fight snd time spent camping both times
im 63 drk, and though he has high def and hp, hes weak, no stronger than the clippers you spawn him with. im 2/2 cause the first time i fought him it dropped, but i accidently threw it away (opps) so went back a few days later, killed again, got again, yay.
i'd say he's a reliable pop, both times were no longer than 2 hrs methinks, popped in same place, on the little bridge thing. also for fun i cleared his entire area of bats in trains while waiting, got a few stacks of bat wings, 4k in bastok on Odin. hes my favorite NM i will admit, only cause unlike others ive gotten his drop and had fun camping him.

Yay, got my Nadrs today, 1/5 on triple C. Very nice looking sword indeed. I first killed him about three weeks ago, then I found myself in Korroloka tunnel again, and camped him a few more times. After my 4th kill, my friend decided to join me while he did some skilling.

I hate this crab, I really do. As of today I'm 0/27 with thf sub for TH.

That's almost like my count for Zi'Ghi, I love killing him. It's so fun. He uses Invincible and I sleep him, smack him around a little bit, then nuke him while he is still "invincible" to finish him off. So fun. I wanna kill this crab though... much fun.
Edit: Forgot to add this, got the sword 1/2 a while ago.

He spawns on the map that has the Jammer Leeches, if you know where that is ^^
finally i got the drop :) like 2 days ago very good sword. i use it on lv 30 ballista drk/nin
with centurion/nadrs :) well GL to u ppl out there who wants this sword it will take time
btw the past 5 fihts w/o the drop his attack didnt use poison but when i fought him and got drop 1 of his attacks has a poison efecct, coonection? maybe lol well GL

Well, I got the drop. here Is what I noticed on his poison:
On Bats the poison came up very rarely, but un-like most venom weapons it still occured
Against Orcs in La-thiene the poison came up on the first couple hits everytime, and against a Ram the poison was instant, and when it wore, the swords next strike re-poisoned.
IMO thios sword is great in proms, and of course it looks sexy.
