This isn't a NM.
Could i Solo it?
# Mar 16 2006 at 7:10 AM Rating: Decent
I was wondering if i could solo this sucker as DRG/WHM or DRG/RDM, I have a Jelly Ring and BQ ring with plenty of HP and DEF, I also have spirit taker for MP regain, if i brought Echo Drops could i solo this thing? If not could i duo it with another drg, I've been looking for ways to test my drg's power, so far ive tanked Voiuver(sp?) after nins and mnk died and ive tanked Lumber Jack which im almost positive i can solo with buffs. So do you think i can solo it?

When I was leveling my BLM in Lab. of Onzozo my exp killed this guy just as easily as we were killing the Tormas. We had a NIN tank which helped alot but we weren't in any mortal danger.

Yes "Dragon Killer" does work on these. I fought one on my DRG75/RDM37. Intimidated it many times, and got it to about 25% HP, then came Radiant Breath ><. Smacked me for about 550 damage and silenced me, which for a DRG/RDM is very bad. I died about 2 hits later lol, still fun though.

Their abilities are a bit tough to exp solely on them; they are mostly chain enders. There is only one in here anyway.

Note: This is NOT a NM, killed it 3 times in a row, must be random pop or something.
anyway, the other day when i was in onzozo, i saw a jp pt take out the NM gob which drop the kard in the same room as this wyvern

They spawn in a hidden cave around H-4. Watch out for toramas and manticores when pulling them to tunnel around g-6.

Where is the entrance to the hidden cave?
I assume it is a false wall somewhere?
RE: spawn loc
# Mar 05 2005 at 11:08 PM Rating: Decent
No, not a false wall... its just a tunnel leading to a large room not marked on the map. The Wyvern is right inside, with a gobbie or two. Note that when pulling, bring another voker, because its a long pull to any camp. And no, it is not an NM.

While I have to agree that these are not NMs two next to each other doesn't disqualify it from being one. There are several NMs where there are more then one. Two of which are in korroloka tunnel.

Multiple of the same mob doesn't make it necessarily a normal mob; if you have done G3, you will notice two Ruby Quadavs, both "Impossible to Gauge".

Or the mission-related Hinge Oils in Toraimarai Canal, there are 4 of them in 1 spot and they check impossible to gauge.

Technically, a Wyvern is a Type of Dragon, so Dragon Killer SHOULD work on this sucker, and all the other Wyverns in this game. I doubt it will though, otherwise Dragons and Wyverns would be in the same "Families".

Actually, its more than likely that Dragons and Wyverns ARE in the same family, along with Wyrm, and that is the Dragon family.

Just because they look different and have different mob types doesn't matter--Bombs and Magic Pots and Weapons are all different types of mob, but they all fall into the Arcana family (and all fall to Arcana Killer).

So I'd think that Wyverns, Dragons, and Wyrms are all affected by "Dragon Killer."

Wyverns and Dragons are two different types of creature, the main difference being that wyverns have no front legs, unlike dragons. Wyverns are related to dragons however.

Wyrms are the true dragons; look at the pictures of Fafnir and Nidhogg and you'll see what a Wyrm is.
