Flood damage for 801. EXP'ing in Quick Sands fighting these, never expected it to cast such spells. I saw it start his cast, shield bash was still ticking, no tp for Flat Blade. Called for stun, no reply. Called for Weapon Bash, no action. I was just in time to trow a last CureIII at myself being a PLD before it hit me for 801 on Flood and i hit Invincible with 28 hp left. I knew it was going to hurt, but i never expected anything like this >< Painfull mob, it was a fun fight though.

Don't fight these guys if you're in West Altepa Quicksands. They get the spells Burst and Flood which can take out any party member including the HP-loaded TANK!
PLus Quake can do 400-500 and even the weaker version (52-54) have this... :-/
But at the same time if you circle around them that's a good thing and they can't get so many spells off.

Oh my lord... no matter what yer up to... I would recommend not fighting these guys too much LoL Well... at least not as a pt lvling from 45-50 :P
Today, just after hitting lv 50, I had the pleasure of finding out exactly how much damage Burst can do in this bad boy's hands. Being a RNG/WAR (puller for my static pt) I tend to draw hate here and there and once in a while it's more even than our PLD/WAR can keep off me. This bugger turned on me mid fight and pow... Burst. 849 damage... I don't even HAVE 849 HP LoL

i was in a PT in Quicksand Caves fighting Beetles and our puller, a Ranger, decided to aggro one of these things - right off the bat it uses its sleepga ancient magic and gets the whole PT, BLM and all... So we were all just waiting there, slept, while this badboy decided to cast Tornado on the RNG puller... /goodbye RNG! {See you again!} It hit for 800 HP. We stuck with beetles after that fiasco^^
Long time after the post but I'll comment anyway. Silence does stop AM, you just have to land it. When these things are IT it can be really hard to stick. I'm soloing them now for skillups (they are DC to me at 59) and Burst takes forever to cast, I have time to slip in Silence.
Also EM/Seal does not help stick silence, as Silence is not an elemental spell. Just a followup from a poster below.
These guys can and will cast ancient magic IE Quake for near 700 dmg. And since they have no casting delay it can easily kill your puller before he gets back to your group. So be careful.
i fought this guy last night and he had a long cast time on quake.. long enough to get off Elemental Seal + silence anyway.. unfortunately it didnt stop him from casting and WRECKING our tank.. 900+ damage.. yeah we stuck to beetles after that
