Dont waste your time.......Its pointless.
There are quite a few NM' s that don't drop any thing. ( or anything, usefull at least.) It's most likely there for the thrill of the hunt. You know, so you might have fun doing something, rather than just having all your actions motivated by gil.
But if it does have a drop, and i'm wrong, just go kill it for fun, and maybe you'll get it.
( I killed it once, had sneak on after setting my SATA macro off, cause i saw it. Had to 2 hour it, and use a few potions, but i killed it. No drop)

it's a possibility. the only way you can spawn this bugger is at night time when there are bats out, that you can lottery through. maybe it's another jaggedy :o
Maybe its got smoe uber drop, that is so rare no one has gotten it yet^^

asarath could be right try hunting if ur a thief and try to steal alot u might get a surprize!
Maybe Square just put this thing in as a joke. ^^

I dont wanna act like i know more than u guys so im just gonna say that (maybe) and i do mean maybe this guy is actually a very strange notorious monster and his drop is extremely rare and just none of u have got it yet, or possibly u can steal a rare item offa him or maybe u need to be wearing something in particular or u have to have eaten or drank something in particular. im not saying im right its just a thought. thanks for reading

I believe i know where the name of this NM comes from. There is an Japanese anime show called "Mobile Suit : Gundam". In the Show at one point was a trio of characters called the Black Tri Stars. Also they had a manuver that was called the jet stream attack, the name of the specail attack of these type of bats. This is some useless trivia that might make your day. ;}
lol, yeah those Zeeks using the Dom mobile suits. Maybe one of the programers slipped it in as a joke :D
One of the crazy mysteries of FFXI... I bet its just a lame NM that they forgot to put a good drop for.

So i started to head to jeuno when BAM on my widescan i see it. I run and see somebody dismount from a choco to fight it so i spam stun. I get the pull. So its mine, its an easy battle. I kill... and i got the drop! Woohoo!

I heard a rumor that this thing is the Place holder for another NM on the map. Possibley Simurgh? I know that Simurgh is on an unreliable 24 hour clock, is this bat on the same 24 hour clock?
Simurgh has no place holder, and pops on a raised area that can only be access by going through the Crawler's Nest.
This NM is completley pointless, no reason to even have it.
Hmm... i think im gonna try to camp this thing to c if it really only drops bat fangs, bat wings, and beastmen blood....in my spare time though.... i would think an NM would drop at least some thing different then ordinary bats

I just wasted a day camping this NM thinking it would drop a cool item.... but i guess i was wrong =/ lol
This is a NM? o_o; I passed this one my way through Rolanberry on Chocobo... My friend was leading me in circles, and while we were walking around, I pointed it out and said it had a cool name. >< Didn't check it though, that's probably why I didn't notice it was a NM. =/

this one isn't really worth the time to hunt unless you're just doing it for the sport of it. the beastman blood that it drops can be found on common leaches in pashow marshlands, so don't waste your time for the blood.

Killed Black Triple Stars last night (2/3/04). Popped right in the middle of the noted spawn area after 3 nights of hunting (about two hours). They dropped....3 bat fangs! Was disappointed, but got 3 stacks of batwings, a stack of silk thread, a stack of silver beastcoins during the hunt....and ended up getting 4 bags of tree cuttings on the way back to Jueno.
