Vana'diel Bestiary: Ga'Bhu Unvanquished  

It spawned within 30 mins of camping with no other people camping him. Fought him as a Lv62 war/nin with about 95% life. I had to rampage him 3 times to kill him and his chainspell knocked me to about a 400 hp. When he started poking me for about 60 dmg each hit. Killed him with last rampage and only got a crummy rapier.

just walking to 4-doors area to help with af key, he was standing there uncamped. i stuck an acid bolt in his head, and wailed on him (im a 61thf/30nin) he didnt even hit me until he 2-houred, and continued to hit me with chainspell/fire for 6 dmg....one bloody bolt, i was at full health, one dancing edge, he was dead.
only dropped a deul rapier.

been camping this guy 25+ hours now i'm 0/6, so annoying, they definetly changed his spawn area, it's huge now, drop rate sucks, I'd say his spawn rate is like 2-5 hours, i've seen him take about 5 hours to spawn sometimes.

During the update congestion I was the only person in Beadeaux for close to 4 hours. I ended up leaving with a V Mask, Holy Phial, 2 Dodge Earrings, 1 Dual Rapier, 1 Marine Hat, a Power Crossbow and a bunch of other crap. Pretty good, close to 700k in items.

Oh, and the Dual Rapier is NOT a 100% drop. I killed Unvanquished 2 times in I'd guess 3 hours, and once I got just a V Mask, the next time I got just a Dual Rapier.

Soloed him twice so far at 58bst. I send a pet/mob at him then heel once it gets some hate to train him to a safe spot (where the slimes are) then release pet(like carby pulling) and call a jug pet(I use funguars). Jug pet solos him with no problem but 0/2 so far ; ;.

has maybe 3500 hp. I had to 2hr to finish him off. Uses chainspell, and it's kind of a pain.

Me a 50 rdm/blm and two LS friends 43drk/war and 50mnk/war camped this NM for a few hours. We managed to get the claim despite competition.

It started to rain during the battle. Somehow a broo agro'd and a Water Elemental agro'd from the magic. Two high levels, a DRK and a THF killed the broo but watched as we nearly killed the NM but the elemental (DC at 50) ended up taking all my MP for cures and killing us all.

Then the THF claims the NM and finishes it off. I think the THF (name: Sneakk) is a JP player, but has enough english knowledge to understand the pleas for help with the elemental that they could have easily dispatched. Not to mention this same THF earlier asked me for cures and I helped out.

Thnx for nothing Sneakk. If you're on fairy don't expect help from that mithra.

i've killed this guy 6 times, gotten a rapier everytime, and 0 valk masks ; ;

This guy is driving me crazy. I wish I would have never sold my valk mask when i first quit the game.

his spawn isnt 1hour too 1 1/2 it's longer. 2-4 hours is what i'v noticed. And also, were it's circled on the map were he spawns... i'v never seen him spawn there. heh, close, but never there. think the sword is 100% drop aswell, tobad it only goes for 6-7k.

Ok. first things first. His spawn area has been changed, but only slightly. He still only spawns in J6-J7 but it can be ANYWHERE in that area (dont use the little circle on the map as a guide)

His place-holders are 2 Emerald Quadavs(RDM). One spawns at the west side of J6-J7 and the other at the east (sometimes just outside the boundries of J6-J7). Additionally within this area will spwawn 3 sets of monsters, made up of an Iron(PLD), Elder(WAR) and Spinel(Blm) in each set. If you do want to clear the area try and kill the monsters as soon as they spawn. The Emerald and Iron Quadavs have the habbit of going around and casting protect3 and shell and themselves and their fellow davs.

I have not timed it exactely but he seems to spawn within about 1 - 1.5 hrs if the placeholders are always killed.

What level is he? I'd tend to agree with him being lvl 48. He's essentially not that different from the lvl48 emeralds except for having heaps more hp and attack strength. Haste (lvl 48 for rdm) is the highest spell I have seen him cast.

As to the question "Can I take him at my level?", I can only relay my own experiences as a 61 rdm/whm. First thing. I can sometimes be the only one camping him, this means that I am never able to completely clear the area all the time and the possability of links exists (everything is boderline ep-tw to me). I try to avoid links as much as possible but if need be I have the mp to fight him and keep a couple of links asleep at the same time.

My agility is 48+14 and i have close to capped Eva. These helps alot plus blind helps him to miss even more. A combination of Protect3 + Phalanx + Bio2 means that he hits me for 10-30 with crits at 70-80. My own attack power is pretty weak and i dont cast dmg spells on him either so its generally a kinda slow fight. I just make sure that bio2, silence and blind are always on him and phalax in always on me and he's and easy kill. As a rdm/whm I have divine-seal + cure 4 for a good 700+ hp restore if he manages a few too many crits and convert if i'm really unlucky with add-ons.

I summary. I'd say that most lvl 60 jobs should take him alone with the right spells or medcines, however being able too keep him silenced in very usefull. if you get add-ons then the fight becomes significantly harder and unless you have the ability to sleeps the links or the def/hp to take their hits you might not make it.

On a final note, 2 having 2 ppl will greatly increase your chances of beating any competition as you can each cover one of the emerald's spwans points and hopefully snag Ga'Bhu when he pops. Pretty much evertime i have been beaten is when i'm killing the emerald on one side and he pops on the other while i'm busy. Oh, and Broo's agro to resting.
