This NM is closer to lvl 55 and can take as little as an hour or so, to as long as 5 hours to spawn.
Wow, I remember Partying with Joey at the dunes with my MNK, a level 10 PT< and you were a SMN. Me and you were the only two to survive a Sand Hare lol.

The Dual Rapier seems to be a pretty common drop. Does this mean the the Treasure Hunter skill will raise the chances for the Rapier, and lower them for the mask (maybe not lower, but stay the same, still leaving the rapier with a higher chance of dropping)?
The rapier has a 100% drop rate..

Very hard NM to take down. The problem for me wasnt his physical attacks. It was that two hour. If you can silence him youll be ok. If not get ready for some hurt ^^;. Im a lvl 61 rdm and I cant take him without blm subbed I dont think. He has a TON of hp and uses Cure IV sometimes 3 or more times in a fight. Not to mention hell buff the bejesus out of himself. Protect III Enwater etc etc. When I killed him I gained 16 exp Every time so the lvl may be wrong thought Im not sure. Dont attempt to take this big boy down till you are lvl 60+ rdm or lvl 65+ other jobs IMO.

so i take it that a lvl 50 DRG/25 War couldn't solo this bad boy, damn, oh well

Used to camp him at 55drg/blm. had about a 50%success rate at killing him. the chainspell didnt bother me cause i would just chain cast poison to cure myself... it was the ore toss doing 400 damage that would end me.
Could i kill this thing as a lv55 drk ?

Logged out in beadeaux about an hour before the update, with the intent of logging on right after updating, and camping this NM. At level 60drg/rdm, I was still getting exp from the neighboring quadav that would potentially link should Unvanquished spawn. About an hour of killing, and still no other campers, he spawns. Proceed to beat him up, and he casts chainspell. Bring on the fun and games. Spamming bio, dispel, thunder, you name it. At about 1/3 of his HP I had to super jump and let my wyvern tank some so i could recast buffs and heal up. Finished the fight, and low and behold...Valkyries Mask. Too bad none of my friends were online to see me spam /hurray :D
In a nutshell, if you're not 60, or dont have the ability to keep yourself alive thru chainspell, i wouldnt advise camping this NM. Fun fight though :)

Approximately. I'm sure it is like other NMs and is 1.5hours +/- 30 minutes. Also, it spawns from selected Emerald Quadav. Killing the other Quadav (except Emerald, of course) in the area doesn't speed up spawn time, but will help from getting added on when you find Gha'Bu.

so i'm assuming the respawn time is 1.5 hrs?

A level 54thf/27nin and I (59brd/29whm) camped this guy for about 20 minutes when he spawned. We got beat to him, but stayed for another hour and a half. When he spawned next, we killed him. Was pretty tough when he used chainspell, but silence fixes that. Drop was duel rapier only =/

lol it goes for 250k or so in cerberus server. not worth camping if u can kill it.
