Detects by sound my ***.
I just got aggro'd by a pair of these while I had Sneak up, and above 85% HP.
Be careful around these.

I know it's over 200. But while lvling I didn't get much skill up to say the least. Maybe 1 on both staff and sword but it may just be because I suck at hitting staff is 212 and sword is 207 I'm lvl 63 pld.

If you hit the mob while with ranged attack, you wont lose agro when you run thru the pool. If you miss, or just get agro, you will lose agro

Ranger63/Ninja27 (yeah, gimp subs rock), soloed 3 of these while I was waiting for a party to take me in. No matter how much damage I dealt, if I passed through water, the Processionaire lost my scent.
Water takes up your scent, so any mob that pursues by scent will lose your track when you step into water.
Not a glitch, just use your surroundings to your advantage.

No, this is due to some wacky glitch down in that pool where Ancient Goobue spawns. They don't do this in any other area.

That's not so. I used to use the streams in East Sarutabaruta for this purpose from pretty much day 1.

Is there a safe camp for these?

This thing seems to pursue by scent. Several times our puller lost aggro when running over a pool of water; even after provoking or throwing a ranged weapon at the mob.

All mobs start to lose agro if they or you run through a pool of water or cast deoderize. Depending on the enmity build up, you will have to stay further and longer out of agro range though.
