The description says it goes well with chai. Has anyone tried eating the two foods together? I know that's usually not possible, but it might be different with this expansion.

Chai, as I know it, is a tea. In FFXI, food and drink effects will stack with one another.

Chai is the Russian word for "tea".

Actually Tea, such as San d'Orian Tea is a food, not a drink, like Milk or Juice is, so it probably doesn't stack.

Alla has Chai listed as a food. Maybe they made a mistake, though.

Offering this

If this is a group effect food, then have someone drink the Chai, then have someone else eat this. they should recieve some bonus effect when this food overides their tea

<rubs temples> OK, the goes well with chai bit.. it was role-playing.. IRL, this type of dessert *would* probably go well with chai tea.

I dont think they actually meant that you could do chai and this food together.

I used this on my 45 RDM, and the following happened:

INT +1

Max HP increased from 692 -> 761 (+69HP, or +9%)
Max MP increased from 421 -> 433 (+12MP)

No increase to any other stats, no bonus to Attack or Defense, no bonus to resistances. I haven't tested any other effects.

I used this last night in a party on my 56 BRD/WHM:

Max HP 751 => 823 (10.5%)
Max MP 163 => 167 (4%)
Mebbe another stat or two, I was staring at the HP buff. :P

Oh, and get this...

GROUP EFFECT

At least three other people in my party received a noticeable increase to their health. Didn't get the numbers, though.

Just ate the one I got from the quest. Seemed like a static amount of 10ish MP, a percentage of HP around 10%, and +1 INT. Didn't wear off quickly, so it's probably a 3 hour food. Dunno about other stats, all I was getting at the time was a rough estimate of what it did.
