Elvaan DRK
# May 26 2007 at 9:47 AM Rating: Decent
I'm an Elvaan DRK... Obviously I'm attracted to anything that raises ACC, but is this armor good for DRK? Other than the obvious HP loss (which I have plenty of already as Elvaan hehe) would this armor be worth it?

Better than SH
# Dec 15 2006 at 6:34 AM Rating: Decent
Imo this is far better than a SH for thf. First off Thfs dont need eva+ gear for partying and the +5 acc and racc are what we really need and the +5 att helps to. Btw i just got mine for 50k off ah. ^^

Just want to know, would this be a suitable alternative to the SH for a THF? I've seen a fair amount of jobs like THF and DRK running around in this post-60, so i thought it'd be good, or am i being misguided?
looks awesome

Just bought this today for 200k on Gilgamesh. The price has gone up 40k just today, 8/4, so I figured get it incase the price goes up further.

Nice piece of gear.

280k on Shiva by now.
I picked it up since my DRG is 55, i love it. I already have SH and think about selling it now and stick with Jaridah Peti. Buy Sniper Ring and something like that (still use Venerer ><). Guess im gonna do that XD
One day :P

This is my dream gear. not just for the stat boost for my COR (ftw^^) but i just like the way it looks lol
Really fun to use
# Jun 24 2006 at 3:07 AM Rating: Decent
I love the ACC and ATK I'm not sure why I see so many DRGs still running around with the SH on I mean even with the drachen mail on and sole sushi you should be hitting pretty good seems like overkill on a single stat to me...

I've been trying my best to keep some balance in my character I have been in pts with other drgs some either hit all the time for 20-50 less dmg than me others hit 1/2 as often and only get that 10-40 mark above my hits. I'm not the best player in the game but this sure helps me be a better one ^^

BTW. . . has anyone really taken a look at the def on this thing? even losing 25 hp that 42 def at lvl 55 is awsome for a drg when added to the stat boosts . . . look at Carapace Breastplate or even Conte Corazza! (god i want that conte gear. . .) this looks like it will make solo easier without the loss of some power ^^

Only thing i dont like about this is one of my LS members said i looked like a F`d up batman ._.

*edited the ` i hit tab on and yea. . .*

Sub Craft Caps
# May 29 2006 at 6:25 AM Rating: Decent
No.. I can make 3 of these peices.. the pants by risk only.. my cloth is 60.. the other 2 that take smithing feet and hands... as for the subcraft caps, I have made several as while skilling up both cloth and leather.. and if all the peices are relatively the same then the subcraft caps are all between 33 and 37. IE, I still got a .1 for leather while making the hands as leather 35. Also, note from other armor peices that take subs (very rough guess) an item using a higher lvl sub craft material, will take about 65-75% of the materials crafting skill, so if a DS chain is smithing 60, it will take about 45 as used per a subcraft of Clothcraft synth. GL, dont break, cause these are expensive lol.

Oh.. and my facts come from simple game data and experimenting: you cannot attempt to synth something more than 12-13 above your skill (cant remem. which now) and obviously wont skill on it when above skill, I was allowed to make the hands peice (Jaridah Bazubands) at 23 leather and advance support making my counted skill 25, and I got a .1 skill while making it successfully. SO.. it cannot be any higher than 37-38, and because I still got a .1 at 35.. it must be 36-38. AND, I'd bet most of the other subcraft caps AND on other peices of this set are within 3-4 so.. again.. GL
P.S. to my horror, after making this 400k synth at 25 leather sub.. I got a skill up at 35 lol, so I was synthing 11+ below skill on a sub craft.. yeah.. you crafters know THAT was PURE HOT luck.. whew.

Im guessing its 60 Clothcraft required due to the fact the karakul cloth caps at 57, and its normally give or take a few lvls...
RE: Cloth
# May 29 2006 at 6:28 AM Rating: Decent
No, please dont guess! Poor crafters out there wont have nayfun by waiting till 55 to try to make this! lol Read my post about sub-craft caps above. the Cloth sub is not 60 if main is 66, not on these at least. Its no more than 40, if I had to GUESS having made at least 10 of them, its more like 36-38
DRG ftw

perfect for DRG, Acc 2 hit mobs, attack to hurt em and ranged acc. for jumps! like it was made for us!

Ranged Attack + does not affect Jump (or High Jump).
THF gear
# May 15 2006 at 6:26 AM Rating: Decent
This gear trumps the SH for a thief (apart from soloing). In PT, for attacking gear, you need either as much haste gear as possible then load up on Sniper's rings/ Woodsman rings/ etc. and Spectacles or Peacock charm/amulet, or you need to simply load up on as much acc and racc gear as possible. This full set of gear allows a thf to not only hit with 95% connection rate, but also add reliable ranged attacks to boost TP. As well, it increases usefullness of THF ranged attacks in PT allowing THFs to use their bolts to debuff the mob.

The prices on Asura are around 600-800K. I predict that each piece will be roughly 1M when all is said and done and that the prices for SH and Sniper's will go down slightly.
Bah
# May 08 2006 at 2:29 AM Rating: Decent
Unfortunate that It's not very practical for RNG's to pick this up right now with the still inflated ammo prices everywhere. I wouldn't mind a decent piece of gear - my LEVEL 30 kit is getting kind of faded.... And the 24 points of def would be nice......

Seriously - I thought I might pick this up, then I saw the Acc bonus. /crap on RNG's again.... No new armor till af........

useful for war update?
# May 08 2006 at 1:11 AM Rating: Decent
Maybe when the warrior gets throwing axes added to their ******* this will be a nice piece for them. true not as much att and acc as hauby, but racc in addition to the rest may make it quite useful. Either way my war is 48, another 7 levels and ill wear it 55-59 if nothing else. definately my armor of choice for those 4 levels
Pretty

I picked it up for my RDM. I don't really have much use for it other than looks. I don't use it in exp parties, but I like to run around in it when I'm killing monsters at random... makes me feel pretty.
Its nice but not even close

Yes its a nice lower level peice or equip, and all depends what job you would use it for, i see it good for theif > ranger and thats about it.

Any Damage dealing melee job would respectably stick with the Hauby. There is no comparison between the 2.

SH still offers +hp +10 acc +10 Eva still a better peice imo.

But if money is tight, i guess this would do the job.

Also damn sweet for DRG... Even at 75 I think I'll use for acc+... and Narasimha for WS :3

{/laugh} at all the people making fun of this equip by saying it's a poor man's SH. Some jobs and styles of play make this the superior equip hands down.

As a THF, I'd take this over a SH for exp parties anyday. Soloing, however, I'd take the SH. >.>

It's more like hauby than SH (and I've been drooling over hauby ever since I knew of SH and Hauby ^^). If I had enough for either this set or SH I'd pick this (9 acc 7 atk vs 10 acc...hmmm... I pick 9 acc 7 atk).
nice change in clothing
# May 02 2006 at 12:28 PM Rating: Decent
Not bad at all ... I'll take +5 to both ranged and regular acc on top of the nice change of suit over the Scorpion Harness, although for farming DC+ purposes only really. Oh and the +5 att is very nice!

Everything else below DC are easy enough to hit without racc+ gear, and xp VT+ mobs are already 10-15% chance of hitting even with racc gear (unless you've stocked up on it all, but then you loose out on melee acc I think).

all in all my opinion... I love the way this piece of gear looks more than the stats it gives me (which is very decent)

This was around 500k when I first checked on Ifrit. It's now hovering around 430-480k.

This set looks pretty awesome for ranger, but I'm not gonna be getting it till I make a crapload more money, and till the price drops. If I see the price on a piece going up though, I'll probably try get it there and then.

This piece is amazing; though it will probably only last up until I get my AF.

By the way, does anyone know the rough levels of smithing and clothcraft required? I'm gonna check the price of the ingredients; I might get the set synthed instead.

This is better than SH. ACC+ATK Yes, please.

Of course, if you need the evasion (Ninja) you're better off sticking with SH.
