I also got skill up above 64 and according to wiki it caps at 66

edit: crafted a few more of this on feb 23 2009 and was 66 starting and got like 4 skill ups of .1 each over the course of synth 2 stacks of feathers. So cap is atleat 67 now.

NoNoNO , It is 10 levels up to a try. At 52 you can try to make these ( lots of fails).

Nobody makes these because it's basicly impossible to farm apkallu due to their hate system. Farm enough of them and too weak apkallu become unkillable. Worse yet the hate cannot be reset, it has to go down by itself over time (1 level for each RL week)
Final Fantasy XI 12-14-11 Update wrote:
Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

I'm a 63 Cloth and I get about 20% breaks and several skill ups in doing a stack of feathers. The Cap must be in the around 68-70 area. i'll keep you posted.

This synth either is much higher than 62 or has a bizarre subcraft no one knows about. I've failed this synth well over 20 times in a row at level 55 cloth.
error in cap

These are absolutely not lvl 62 cap. Its more towards 65. My LS lead was synthing these at 62.5 and she said she got plenty of skill-ups but also half of them failed. Even gave this to another friend who was 60 cap and he failed almost every time. I'm guessing these are leaning more towards 65-70.
can't find them

I never see these feather for sale anywhere, any clue where I can buy them on Valefor? Is it true farming them will build hate??

Darn, I was hoping these'd be higher...

Besides, why are you all leveling on silk/green ribbons to 60+ still? Hunter's cotton is a helluva lot more cheap to do up. O.o

currently these hurt more than silk cloth to synth due to rarity/price :p (but more likely everyones trying to do what Im doing and theyre beating me to it) With the aht urghan expansion though the price of silk has dropped significantly from 45-55k a stack to 30-35k a stack for thread :p (Garuda server)

I attempted these once at 53+1 (no support). Failed, but at least was able to try. Since almost all fletchings are on a second level (2, 12, 22) this could be our level 62 fletching.

If you attempted at 53+1 with no support that means they are at most 69 cap, because you can attempt up to 15 levels above your current. I just went 2/7 with 57 cloth and advanced support, no skill ups on any of it. I would guess from my success rate that it's closer to a 64-66 recipe, but with only 7 synths to judge by I could have just had a bad run.

If you are right about this which would be very good possible, since we have no 62 fletchings 54 failed and we already have 72 and 82 fletching, this would just be heaven cause i see it this way to use silk cloth hurts badly but this would be perfect to lvl from 55ish to 62 to get a short pain with silk headbands till 65ish and head on with black choco fletchings ^^

I Hope to be able to say THANK YOU SE!
