Archaic Mirror
I learned the hard way that you have to have Sanction on in order to receive the 200 IS reward from trading the Mirror to the Gate Guard :-(
In addition, it appears that everyone in your party who has Sanction also receives the 200 IS reward.

Maybe things changed in an update but...
If you attack it ranged or no, the mobs that protect it will attack you.
The Mirror does appear on widescan and so do its NM protectors.
They may reflest magic, but with a lot of banish and dis I casted did not reflect it one time.

I've come across a lot of these during my travels in Arrapago Reef, can't say i've seen others in Halvung or Mamook. But these are sorta fun to hunt in a small group, if 2 or more mirrors are around. I know a few spawn locations for them though like previous posts say, they are random - some are just plain easy to get to, other require a lot of work... but worth it if you ever come across one ^^

I soloed the mob as 23WHM/11PLD... don't ask the mobs doesn't fight back so if you can get to it and have the time anything can beat it

I have pics of the Archaic Mirror sent in and hopefully they will be up soon. I can verify that it does not attack back at all.
This mirror drops off the NM with the same name: Archaic Mirror. If you look at the besieged map (/bmap), you will see a listing of the number of archaic mirrors in each stronghold. You must travel to the stronghold, find the archaic mirror, destroy it, and the item will drop. Note, the NM does not attack back. Since the mirror is usually guarded by mobs, I have found using ranged attacks to be very useful.
Trade the mirror to a sanction guard, and you will receive 200 IS. Apparently, this also slows the growth of that particular stronghold.
Another note, unfortunately, the NMs do not appear on widescan, and they are not located in the same place every time, though it does appear they have a set number of places they can spawn.

Did it **** off the mirror guard NMs? I was in a party that farmed some mirrors today and our MNK ran off to attack the mirror while we fought a mirror guard; once the mirror got down to 1/4 health or so the remaining two guard NMs ran over and started attacking him.

I've found through soloing mirrors with my summoner, that the mirror guards link by sight. Chances are your Monk just wasn't seen yet.

Rate up! Thanks for that useful info! How strong are the mirrors themselfs? Are they resistant to Magic or better yet, do they actually REFLECT magic since its a mirror and Reflect is coming out soon to PC's...
Looking into this mirror will show just how evil you really are.
