umm not sure why BLU get a beter AF weapon than PLD
PLD are better than BLU at (sword)so why do BLU get a super stronger sword than PLD

I am honestly going to say, that PLD are NOT better at the sword. The story of the BLU are that they are trained to take on swords. "These formidable fighter-mages employ elegantly curved blades for close combat," in other word, they don't use anything but swords. If you look at knives/daggers, nothing for them. They can use wands and staffs, but that would be pointless, unless it really helped them. They can't really use shields until lvl 30. And even if you look at the sword list, there aren't that many swords that specify BLU.

**** i really must suck i got my game turned off 4 times in 3 years so 4 years i been playing. i thought this sword was cool till all you ***** ruined it. sry for the rudeness but hey i got a life and been supporting myself since 16 so forgive me if i don't have the money to buy all the gear you rich gill buyers got

I did the quest the hard way being 41BLU/NIN, sneak oil/tonko: ichi, too all five staging points without maps. I already had Halvung but BLU being my highest (lol) I had no imperial standing so I redid that. At one I got totally lost and didnt have any warping-utility ready so to get back and restart I let myself get smacked. Ilrusi and Dvucca I did using the shortcutway through the Undersea ruins (look it up if you need them it is great; you only have to go through one really dangerous area instead of 2 and you dont need the Lamia Key). Ilrusi I did by going to Dvucca and then trace backwards to where they split up. Still it was the worst and I had a reraise earring but only one use left (after soloing the second part of CoP 2.3 where that earring was a must), ran into some Soulflayers, got killed, reraised, got killed again by an Imp by the gate and this time I didnt have any reraise. And I was lying so close to the gate... Through my LS a friend tried to get someone to go there and raise me but no-one was interested or able too. Second time I knew better where to go.
When I got the sword I was like most people: Yea, hmm, ok, maybe I can use it offhand when /NIN and I even said in LS that it sux. I have come to change my mind. It is really a good sword and perfect for BLU and at 46 I still use it offhand or macro it in for some spells.
The reason for that is that at least when soloing BLU is not only whack-whack-whack with physical spells but survivability is much better if you get a few other spells to work first. With just attack+ swords I noticed that a lot of spells just didnt hit even if I had my BLU skills capped.
And experimenting a bit (of course depends on the mob too) I now often start the fight with this sword and if I have /NIN a Solid Wand in my other hand. (It seems like 2 Solid Wands is too much so maybe there has to be a even balance between STR and INT (just a thought).) But with this Chaotic Eye works wonders against magic casting mobs, Blank Gaze never misses, other spells rarely misses. And then I swap the wand for another sword and go whack-whack-whack with physical spells. I know I am probably missing a bit of MP not using 2 CmbCst Scimitars but on the other hand the MP I have is better used.

Having just made it to 40 as a blu (my highest job btw) i have noticed that it has the same damage as the mithran scimitar which seems to be the best sword for level 40, and it has str, int and mp. Forgive me if am wrong, but don't we need all three of those things. I personally will be keeping this in my off hand for a while, and pairing it with my nadrs when i am just messin around. All in all not a bad sword at all... Unless you are already level 75.

Try getting the AF weapon and take your own screenshot and leave Mighty alone, At least he's got it to take a picture lmao.

The fact that he's the 1st to post a picture has got to be worth some cool points to make up for the crappy angle lol

come on guys we are already so powerful it hurts our team mates when we breath lol so this is just SE's way for saying "ok we won't make your power's weaker BUT we can give you a So-So AF weapon" but then again there is yet to be a "good" AF weapon so what did you expect
This sword is kinda worse off than PLD AF weapon. Sure the +MP is nice, but the +1 int and +1 str doesn't really help unless it comes off on an even number. Still it's nice for poor people who just can't afford an uber weapon for blu at the moment.
screenshot is also scrunched, should have sized it before submitting it :)....oh yeah and turn around. kinda looks like a butter knife in a taru's hand. :/ or one of those inflatable swords. not threatening at all, sorry mightyshanks.

Summoner/blackmage Af1 is more useful then this for crying out loud
Though there are plenty of +accuracy swords for Blu at this level, this sword, with its +str and +int and +mp is pretty decent for level 40 use, if at least for just a while
This looks like a reject from a Chucky movie or something, no offense Mightyshang. Could be Mightyshang is a stunt double for Chucky too. Either way you should have panned the camera view around so we could see the sword better.
I already bugged Mightyshang to take a better shot. No worries.

Agreed, c00l points taken away Mightyshang. :/ Picture should focus on the weapon, not your character.
