Chocobo Colors
# Aug 27 2006 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
It seems like all of the chicobos are yellow, I'm wondering if they change color when they change from chicobo to young chocobo, especially with the comments from the npc's saying that their care and feedings will affect their attributes and appearance. I just hope we dont have to wait till they are adult chocobos.

They change color as they grow, black tips means black chocobo, purplish blue is blue chocobo, rust is red chocobo, greenish yellow is green chocobo, and white is yellow chocobo. Feeding them Vomp carrots makes their physical attributes increase, feeding them Zegham carrots makes their mental attributes increase. Wildgrasses keep them healthy, Greens make their affection go up, medicines increase their stamina, worms dramatically increase one stat, but make the chocobo sick. Colored chocobo's cards fetch a very high price on the market when compared to yellow ones, at the moment, a red chocobo card can fetch 4 million gil on Valefor, a green one has sold for 7 million already, and black/blue commonly go for 10-30 thousand, where as a yellow one can sell for up to and including 15 thousand gil (for perfect stats). That's about all you need to know about chocobos, straight from Valefor's official insane taru chocobo breeder ^^b.

I think all the chicobos will be yellow, Im wondering if they will change when they become young chocobos? Im not sure but everyone who's egg has hatched that i know has a yellow chick, and the NPC's have made comments about the care they are given affecting their stats and appearance. I just hope we dont have to wait until they are adult chocobos. Makes sense, there are many birds in RL that also develop their color this way.

its likely supposed to weed out those who arent so determined to "care" for their chocobos from what i hear these chickens will take more time and commitment then my own kids. hey atleady my kids do stuff other than "the chick seems to want out" i do wonder if the temperature thing makes a difference of gender like alligators and other reptilian creatures. ive only seen two temperatures yet faintly warm and slightly warm. i guess time will tell

This seems like one of the best ideas SE have had in a long while! Hopefully it plays out well and doesn't end up like a tamagochi with a little less beeping.

I'm gonna go buy a choco egg when i log on now and see what i can do with it!

# Aug 18 2006 at 1:08 AM Rating: Decent

is this true
# Aug 20 2006 at 8:29 PM Rating: Decent
First you have to cover the egg in Behemoth Dung, then roll it around in Crawler's Nest for about 30 minutes. After that, you must have the Yagudo Avatar cast Banishga XI on it and viola! Wyvern food!

....

Aka, You CAN'T. -_-

Unless, of course, the two points of pressure are of equal and opposite forces, then they cancel and nothing happens(aka stalemate)!
