I camped this for 3 weeks straight 17+ kills. I also have camped him a few weekends since with 1~2 kills per weekend. If SE was serious about making gill sellers dead they would make the NM's that drop rare/ex items pop way more often and drop way more often too.

oh boy, was reading up on these sinse, im about to start lvl mnk (37 atm). stuck camping mee deggi and gotten clame 18/26 i think. So as i feel right now i might be stuck in castle ostroja for ever. (althu i was 1/22 on leaping lizzy so i might be getting close) Hearing about pop and drop rate on this one makes me hessitant, not to mention faming your own items for brown belt. SE isnt very kind to mnk`s.
After reading up on all this i cant realy blame my rl friend for leaving the game and me. He tryed mnk as his starting job but didnt have the days up to month reallife time it takes to get these items, i feel for everyone doing that, having the g-quests and all on top of it.
I asume SE ment to make monk into players "next" job to 75 but thats hard to know when you start out. As it is now noone starting out as mnk can get these item sinse they cant kill half of the NM dropping the stuff by themself.
So the true hardcore mnk mentioned have no shot at these items, i guess they were made for lvl 75ers who want a pimp low lvl job.

Thats why they made them Rare/ex fool.... So greedy asses like you won't get them Shadowfaxhades.

OMG i have a story behind these.... lets put it this way. if you plan to camp this NM. be prepared to waste the biggest chunk of your life ever, first i have to ask myself... i konw this peace is uber an all. but does SE have to make it to where you waste HOURS and HOURS and HOURS. and DAYS... WEEKs of you life trying to get a peace of gear for a game charator, this is rediculus, im 0/3 i know my luck is crap so i might get them around 8 or so... eh.... this is enguh to make any one that would rather be doing something other then sitting there watching the screen for a name, quit, first camp. show up around 8 ish and kill the shadows for a good 2 hours he pops. im happy. drop rate is %25 and i got claim this could be good.... i kill with ease. guys a puss, danz obtaines a rival tree root, danz dodge effect wears off. /sigh so. i leave and go to bed, and ask a roomie to look out for him wile im at work. he sed he checked from time to time and killed shadows when they where up but nothing, i come home to a DCed error, thaking oh god, he probably poped and somebody got clame, i log and there he his, i kill agan... same results... that effen tree root, ok. at this time im kinda fead up with him not droping it, swap /nin with /thf sence hes such a puss, and go do merit partys for a few and head out to his pop spot and log for the night, log next day camping him, 16 hours after TOD. he dosent pop tell a good 30 hours... iv been sitting there killing shadows for 9 hours getting nothing worth any value. yea 2 scrolls of absorb that payes for the teleport, OMG he poped. i got agan! lucky me right.... WRONG! with /thf he ony hit me 1 time, and drops that root wich i take and throw at his dead corps

Ok so i guess I'm one of the people everybody hates who has been camping these for weeks on end...well heres my story,I've been thinking about trying to get these all week.Well i thought about it hard today and i thought o well ill take a shot at it.So i take my 45 min journey to fei yin cause I'm not familiar with that area.Well,i finally get here and start killing he PH,about 2 hours later i see Wester Shadow.I'm freaking out right about now,so he aggros on to me and i have never camped him before so i did no know how to handle him.so i start fighting and throw up hundred fists and begin to completely destroy him.I'm sitting there thinking man this guys a puss,well then when I'm finished i et a revival tree root......and a Pair of Retaliators!!!!!!!so I'm one of the lucky bastards everybody hates lol.heres some pics btw (lol at the dude that said i wouldn win too :P)

Yep these would be the ra/ex dropped from Western Shadow which still has chance drop non ra/ex version which is the CC. But what I wanna know.. Is the drop rate of the ra/ex version better than the CC drop rate? 0/5 on CC when i used camp this like 2yrs ago same with E-bow. And yes CC and now Retaliators are about best h2h till destroyers for regular use. Yes, there are other h2h that are as good or better (faith, indra, hades) but these should be obtainable at lv50. Also remeber these can go into lv50 or lv60 BC where other h2h couldn't... and you ever counter tank? Try getting guard skill up meriting counter and then toss on -phy dmg, counter, guard gear and counterstance fun times :)

Western Shadow doesn't drop CC any more... that was the whole reason they made the rare/ex version.

Are these obtained the same way the Cross-counters are?
