Thanks for the tip. I was selling them to the NPC at the fishing pier as part of "The Contest" quest in San d Oria and only getting 100 each!!

You are probably thinking of the NPCs for "The Rivalry" or "The Competition" each are identical just with a different NPC. The reason people pay lots of money in AH is so they can turn in the fish to those same NPCs. They are trying to get the Lu Shang Fisihing Rod which I highly recommend as a fun long term goal for all you fishermen out there. Also the quest makes San d'Oria in my opinion one of the easiest cities to get fame in.

Where is the best place for a very low level fisher to easily gain efficent amounts of Moat Carp??

I dunno where to get them. I've been fishing down at the big pond near the bottom of W. Ronf. outside Sandy... the coordinates I think are G-6. Also.. one thing.. is a Fiber Carbon Rod and little worms good for catching them? I have a couple stacks of insect paste.. should i use that instead? I don't wanna break my rod though..

I happened to have a moat carp, so I attempted it (I had 23 cooking at that time.) It failed for me, but I could have just been very unlucky.

When I was just starting as a cook I sliced dozens and dozens of *sardines*, but I never tried a carp. This might be some kind of error on allakhazam?

Looks like a photo error here. Theres a slice of moat carp which is bait, and then theres the actual fish. I'll update them on this.

These sell for 3500 on Valefor in all three cities. I have caught around 5 stacks in the past four days, turning a nice profit, even with the price of the rods and bait in. I use a Carbon rod, but used to use a bamboo rod. Have only broken 1 bamboo rod, but I know someone who has broken 20 rods. Make sure to use insect bait so you wont catch big fish to break your rod!

actally the tarutaru rod is better cause it last longer (if u fishing skill is low) if u really wana make money of it buy all the fishing armor youll catch hundreds and make thousands

Stack of 12 sell for 4000G on Kujata. Just use Fastwater poll + Insect Balls bait.

I've managed to waste a lot of crystals and carp by trying to slice a Moat Carp. The recipe is a wind crystal and a moat carp. It doesn't tell me that you can't do it, or that it is too difficult. However the attempt always fails. I have cooking 4, if anyone with high cooking skill could try this and post the result, I would appreciate it.

Wow, just posted this in the noob comments by vetran posters thread. This was before the level of the synth was listed properly, it showed as a level 0 synth. I might use this synth to catch Emperor Fish at level 75, but even then there is cheaper bait to use. Smiley: rolleyes What can I say, I didn't know any better.

making sliced carp is a huge waste of money. The fish stacks sell for 4k and the wind crystals arn't cheap. After all that the slices still sell less than the whole fish. I don't see the point when there are other things you can cook at that level.
