Attack Cap
# Dec 31 2005 at 1:41 AM Rating: Decent
Quote:
* Attack +30% (Cap: 15@50 Base Attack)

Does this mean you get 15 attack for every 50 bast attack, or a max of 15 attack? I am a DRK with close to 300 ATK so 15 for every 50 would be sweet.

It is 15 max. You get the 15 attack bonus when you have 50 base attack or more.

Basically, a lot of the foods are now percentage based with a maximum ability increase that they will give. Lower lvl foods usually give a faster boost percentage but have a lower max bonus while higher lvl foods give a smaller percentage boost and a higher max bonus.

For example, grilled hare is 30% but will only give you 15 max while Meat Mithkabob will give you 22% with a 60 max bonus. So if your base attack is low, the grilled hare is better, but once your base attack is higher the Meat Mithkabob becomes better.

Hope this helped.

I used kabobs for a few levels as DRG and noticed something. I was stealing hate too often with kabobs because I was outdamaging everyone, SAMs included. So I used this and noticed I got much less hate--now my HP only drops due to {Spirit Link} and AoE. This is much more effective than the other option--DRG/NIN with kabobs (which I did use for a BCNM and it was rather successful, despite the obvious increase of cost).
Great Starter Food
# Oct 21 2005 at 4:22 PM Rating: Decent
This is an excellent starter meal for a WAR, combine with a Butterfly Axe at lower levels along with Chariot Band, then you will be gaining levels extrmeley fast up to partying level.
lol is it 30 or 11%
# Apr 14 2005 at 11:45 PM Rating: Decent
lol is it 30% or 11%, ummm unless there is a cap, 30% would be better than a cheif. O.o

Makeing Money
# Feb 05 2005 at 7:05 PM Rating: Decent
I just started my cooking im lvl 2 now and am going to skill up all the way to 6. I know this may sound strange but im turning a profit off this stuff. Im buying the hare meat and dried majoram. I farmed my fire crystals though. 2 stacks of rabbit meat and Dried Majoram is about 3.5k on our server. This is from bastok ah. Hare Meat sells for 500 a piece in bastok also and sells fast. I only failed about 3 or 4 synths as i re-call so i turned a decent profit. You just gotta know where to sell the meat ^^

It may not stack now, but it lasts for 3 hours.

So just bring the ingredients, make one and use it for three hours while those paying 6-7k for stacks of mithkabobs are going through 6 while you eat one. Good for low levels who aren't made of gil.
Food Update?
# Dec 12 2004 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
Used this as a Level 7 Mithra Thief after the food update.

Before eating : STR 9, INT 11+1, ATK 24, DEF 41

After eating : STR 9+2, INT 11, ATK 32, DEF 41

I posted here because I can't remember where the thread discussing all the food changes is located.

This is a really good skill to level starting at cooking lvl 2, jsut get advanced synth. At cooking lvl 3 I only get .1 raises though, so I switched to orange juice after this.

the components stack, so if you have 4 free spaces you could make them, on the battle field and use 1 at a time. the duration is 60 min tho, so maybe 3 or 4 hare meats would be ok too.

Kinda sucks tho.

It says ALL JOBS because...
# Jan 15 2004 at 5:57 PM Rating: Decent
All Jobs can eat this

My WHM ate these a few times to see what they did

If you could not eat it, it was probably because you had eaten somethin else earlier and were still full

Any Job can eat it
Mages Can't Eat It!!
# Jan 02 2004 at 10:23 AM Rating: Default
Why does it say ALL JOBS? MY Black Mage couldn't eat this. Wouldn't allow me to. I think only Warriors, Monks and similar classes can eat this. No Mages at all unfortunately.

Why would a (black)mage want to eat this? It would only dimish your INT even more. Are you guys eating hare meat or grilled hare?
Grilled Meat
# Dec 31 2003 at 9:02 AM Rating: Default
+4 to strength if u eat it at night
I believe it's +2 STR.
# Dec 30 2003 at 2:01 PM Rating: Default
The Grilled Hare is +2 to STR.
The Grilled Black Hare (essentially Grilled Hare +1, like Roasted Corn/Grilled Corn) gives +3 to STR.
