Addition?

Just used one of these puppies today, and it seems to have a special effect of adding speed boost, so long as you aren't targeted. Will test more.

I've been using these to lvl PLD 1-10 (made them but they didn't sell) I get the 11% def but not the vit bonus or dex penalty.

This can be a very good investment if you are fishing up your own crayfish--I used some crystals off a mule (I had a few stacks lying around) and made some good gil (or at least I will if it sells). Also sent some to a friend who bought me a replacement fishing rod.

I've been eating this as an alternative for fishkabob and it's been working great and cheap.(if you fish up the crayfish yourself.) However lately I notice there is no +VIT even though the defense bouns is still there. Anyone notice that?

On this same note, it would also appear that it doesn't give -1 DEX anymore either.

I can confirm it is 100 guild points for NQ synth.
Also 1600 GP total for that day... so 16 NQ of that item.
It was cheaper to buy 2stacks from AH, 1k a stack, then to make it ^^
+1600 pts richer till i get my chef hat, yeah ^^

You build up guild points in a guild to go towards getting guild-specific equipment. A common example of this is when you see people running around with <insert craft here> aprons which add to your craft skill.

These are good for the tank that can't afford fishkabobs or crab.
Leveling up your skill
# Apr 23 2004 at 8:00 AM Rating: Decent
If you like to fish these are great for leveling up your skill. Take your free crayfish and get some cheap water and rock salt and its a fast and and easy way to get your skill up to 9. I made it from 5-9 on about 3 stacks of crayfish. Oh and the vendors give you enough for them that if you fish your own fish and get your own crystals you can make a nice profit.

OK, so this posts from the bottom up. In my last post, please disregard "above post".. it was directed at the "this is 0-6" post by Anonymous that is directly above the Post New Subject window.
This is NOT 0-6
# Feb 24 2004 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
The above post saying no increases in skill level after 6 is false. I am L8 cooking and getting regular 0.1s from this recipe. Why? Because I haven't done it before. (I started it while around 7.8-ish) I am thinking that recipe variety matters a little more than level, at times. If I stick to one recipe for too long, I stop getting XP for it.. but if I change recipes once one slows down, I usually start getting XP again.

I agree I tried power lvling my woodworking from 8-15 on bamboo rods and barely got any more points past 12. Bamboo rods ARE a 15 item so I decided to switch to maple tables and I got .1 and .2 almost every time. Should be noted I was crafting the maples on darksday for added skill ups...
Steamed Crayfish
# Feb 05 2004 at 12:07 PM Rating: Decent
So I finally decided to eat my steamed crayfish that i made.

+3 to Vit

Doesn't subtract from dex at all.

As with eveything, the level means to make it on a fairly consistant rate. Thise doesnt mean you cant get batter as you use it, but it will be slower after level 6 than it was before it. I started making this at level 0 casue i was going by the guide and wodnered why i failed so much(strat guide doesnt give levels) but i was able to get .3 a lot when i did make them and i was able to get 50/50 each one at level 1.

# Jan 09 2004 at 9:57 AM Rating: Default
steamed is better than boiled.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 24 2003 at 5:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the website says lvl 6 which means you can make it well at lvl6 and still get xp
umm
# Dec 18 2003 at 5:09 PM Rating: Default
My understanding was that you could not make this item UNTIL level 6. I am level 8 cooking and still receiving skill on these at a decent rate.
This is 0-6
# Dec 18 2003 at 1:49 PM Rating: Decent
This is a 0-6 item as far as I can tell. No increases in skill after 6.
