Guild points changed?
# Oct 18 2011 at 3:41 PM Rating: Decent
Guild may have changed, I'm a level 72 cook and this item granted me 3600 points today, making it 8 pieces even. Just for those that may run to a local vendor for this item.

QFT

it says AND.

receiving max GP requires either 9 NQ (360 points each) or 8 HQ (390 points each), as caliah corrected.

Signed Item
# Feb 13 2005 at 4:39 PM Rating: Decent
Has anyone ever tried to craft this as a signed item? And if so, what level would it be safe to try it at? Thank you in advance for any advice you could give.

As cool as that would be, I don't think you can sign food.

You can sign food, I've done it before. The only exception is if it stacks, you can't sign it.. but these don't stack. Cooking is the same as any other synth, with the crystals you can buy with Guild Points.

I would try making this as long as you are 1-2 levels under cap, but if you want to HQ try like 30 above, since cooking is hard to HQ. XP

You can sign food - you have to have Guild Points to buy the crystal to do make it with if I understand the process correctly.
HQ results??
# Dec 20 2004 at 7:18 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know know what day is best to craft this for HQ results. ALso can i get HQ results at lvl 49 cooking on this item or do i need lvl 58 to double the max lvl that can be reached crafting this item?

The best day to craft HQ is on the day that the crystal is weak (In this case the Fire Crystal is weak on Watersday) or on Darksday. The higher your level above the item the better, but there is no reference for doubling the level.

Actually the optimal level (when your HQ chance is highest) is 51 levels or more over the skill cap. You will see roughly a 50% HQ rate at that skill, which in the case of this recipe is level 80.

At 49 I'd venture under good conditions you'd have a 15-20% HQ rate with crafting support.

Edited for spelling/format errors.

I can confirm at Lvl 74, it will cap your atk at 45. This food will work on ranged attack as well.
This information is good as of December 12, 2004.
I would recommend this food since it is 1/8 the price of yellow curry for all those poor rangers out there. Yellow curry enhances your attack by up to 60. In order to benefit from yellow curry for ranged attack you have to have an attack over 250 (after modifiers)....
So that would mean roughly if you are lvl 70+ you should use curry for maximum effectiveness...
Otherwise stick to the cheaper Dhamel steaks.

Ok, I tried it again.. this food does NOT increase Ranged Attack anymore as of Jan 2005.

I've also heard in this thread here:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10&mid=1102622010167366648&num=105

that this food now lasts 3 hours! At last SE makes it worthwhile to carry non-stackable food.

Guild Points are gained by attaining a certain lvl in a craft and trading items to an NPC.

They get you the neat gear of the craft as well as other items and key items.

Skill level for this is not 36. I tried raising my skill with it at 36 and after twelve tries I had failed 0 times and gotten 0.0 skill raise.
