Reached bone 96 yesterday on these, with expectation that Alla's reported cap of 97 was correct. After 48 straight synths without a skillup (no guild equipment, no support; full moon, iceday), am forced to conclude the OP is correct and cap is 96. At least I did 3 nereid rings to make up for my time, 2 of which I am using :).

Level cap has been reported elsewhere as 97. I recieved a skillup off a break at level 91, so they are capped at level 96.
This synth pretty much replaces the HQ Crab/Scorpion shell skillup synths, expect some serious market flooding.
