We catch these fish to level our skill and to make gil. fishing 60-66 cause then we move on to better fish. Of course if you want to believe we are all level 80+ thats good :P
Note that this price has come down with the latest update. Most of the sites I have found on the web say that silver shark costs about 12-13k each. I have L5-6 fame in Windurst and was offered this at Windurst fishing guild for 5960 gil. I cam back a few hours later and it wasn't even on the list of available fish (???) so I went to Selbina where I have neglible fame. Price? About 7240gil.
For anyone coming on here to research their GP item turn-in of shark fin soup, Babubu of the windurst Port fishing guild sells them for 3300 gil range each (despite it not being listed there on this site).

Pretty sure I'm close to hero fame in windy if that has any affect on guild shop price, but he charged me 7200 a shark, fyi.

saw then getting caught by high lvl fisthermen
using lu's rod and meetballs on the mhaura/selbina boat ride.
keep in mind these fishermen were easily in their 80+s
all they cause were either silver sharks, titanictus or ryugu titan. with the ocational nebimonite and titanictus shell.

Is there any way that i(we) could beg the powers that be to include an area, bait type, and skill with the different fishing entries i don't think i am alone in considering such an idea extremely helpful to all aspiring fishers

where can i catch this silver shark at and can i use a lure to get it. I know meatball's can be used to get it.

I was told by another player this can be used in a quest to get Ace Angler title, anyone know anything about the quest?

The quest is called Inside the Belly, you can activate it in Selbina when you have at least level 30 fishing skill. You talk to the Big Galka in the Fisherman's Guild
