HQ and Skill Up Question
# Nov 28 2006 at 8:47 PM Rating: Decent
Hello.
I sell these to NPC's for getting some of my money back.
But my question is:
Should i skill up on these anymore? my skill is 13.1 and these are kinda boring to make. AND I have never got a HQ on these...am i just too low of a skill level? or..am do i just have the worst luck ever.

Thanks for any help.

Quite handily available at Timbre Timbers Tavern right next door to the Cooking Guild.

They cost me 154ea w/level 3 fame, San d'Oria native.

+1/+2
# Mar 14 2005 at 10:34 AM Rating: Decent
I recently tried making these as it was a guild point item. I'm about 55 above the cap and the +1/+2 I was making were 6 and 12 tortilla buenos. I thought the +1/+2 was just supposed to make more tortillas.

Is this new from the big food patch? Anyone know any stats for this food?

A cook next to me was making these. He had several synth's of 4 tortillas, and one synth of 9 tortillas buenos.

I can confirm that the HQ is no longer a higher yield of Tortillas, but now is

HQ1 6Tortilla Buenos
HQ2 9Tortilla Buenos
HQ3 12Tortilla Buenos

Must be from a recent patch though not sure which one.

I made these from level 11 all the way to 14. I made it on Watersday and they gave some good skill-ups. I bought all the ingredients from Raimbroy's Grocery while San d'Oria was in first place, and I used Fire Crystals I got for free from fighting/growing from plants. I sold them back to the NPCs for a profit of 15 gil for 4, and I made tons of stacks, so I made small profits. As mentioned before, GREAT tank food.

It drives me absolutely nuts that you can't stack the San d'Orian flour. These developers must get kicks out of making us crazy!

Made this recipe with skill lv of 10 and didn't gain any skill.

if you attempt a recipe which in one level above your skill... it doesn't mean that you will necessarily gain skill at each attempt, only that your will have more chances of it happening...

also, now that you are at 10 skill, did you pass your guild exam ? if not, you are capped (or almost, some say it just becomes extremely difficult to raise skill instead of being completely capped) at 10, which would explain why you are not gaining skill anymore...

RE: profitable?

No not profitable, but as mentioned above, this ig great tank fuel, when lvl my paladin at low lvls i used this food for solo and it helped my take out even matches like they were easy prey.
