No, only Moat Carp can be used for that quest. That's why only Moat Carp are worth so much.

Forest Carp may now also be used (I just turned in a few--I think this is a recent change?), but Tricolored and Gold cannot. As Tricolored Carp don't seem to have any purpose cooking or crafting wise, I'm a bit puzzled. "Ornamental" would seem to be an accurate description.

I bought a stack of these as cheap food for solo WAR. I think the time is wrong, these seem to last about 3 minutes, nowhere near 30 minutes.

Cap Level means the level at what they cap, so you can catch it earlier, and will be getting skill ups till that level. These are a good way to level up fishing skills, if you happen to catch them. Too bad you can't cook them... or at least I dont know the recipe... :)

got 3 stacks in Ssandoria in an hour, also they sell to any NPC for a good 101 or higher so you make better profit than AH.

P.S. any of you newbs out there short cash and sick of fighting, buy stuff at AH like lizard tails for 200-300 a stack and make a profit NPCing them also fiend blood for 100 or less. Will try to update when i find out more.

Most of the items sold at the weapons and armor store in Bastok can be sold the other way around if you're strapped for cash and have the extra AH space.

On Siren it sells at AH for ~1000. It doesn't move very often...

Sell it to the fishing guild(Selbina or Windhurst) for 100+ Gil per fish.

the tricolored carp are better to be sold at vendors. its the same as the AH but you get the money right away. i do the same with gold.

Many adventurers know of the succulent tastiness of the tri-colored carp, but few know of its great ability as a melee weapon.

Simply take the tail of the carp in your right hand. Put your left hand on your hip, and smack those mobs!
