I am gonna try this tonight see if I can skill up although I am 10 lvls under it
any idea on how to break a lot of these? my ffishing skill is 0 and i never see broken ones on ah, just fixed ones. I need broken ones to get woodworking from 69-73 and cant seem to get any
I've been breaking these fairly easily with just a fishing skill of 1... Been using this and sliced sardines off of the stairs on the ferry. Heh, hopefully I won't have too much trouble getting skill ups on my woodworking from repairing these.

wanna break it. Meatballs on ferry durning full moon. atleast thats what i did. fishing skill 86 and managed to break about 5-8 a 15 min trip.
I'm in the same position (except my fishing is 5 ;)
They told me to use clothespoles with sliced cod on the ferry will pretty much guarantee breaking at low skill. (Just keep sneak up... last thing you want is Sea Horror attacking you...)
You can lose clothespoles while repairing though, so bring a few.

I don't understand...."A bamboo rod designed for catching big fish" and you synth it with Mahogany lumber?...

You can buy this pole for 1,206 or something like that from the Fisherman's Guild at Selbina.

this item is very common should be sold for about 1k-1.2k i have never personaly had one break and have never heard of 1 breaking so it seems pretty solid
i bought it for 600 gil lol good rod tho ;)

Can be dropped by Goblins in the tomb south of east Ronfaure.

can be droped by many goblins the fisher type goblins i noticed droped them the most(or maybe only the fisher types drop them), i can get one drop for every 30 or so kills (still random thus u can get it on one kill). not to sure but dose anyone know if u can uncreate this to make one Silk Thread and one Mahogany Lumber?
when you desynth something it will only give you back one of the items....so in this case it would be either the silk or the wood...but not both....not sure if any is the deciding factor in which you get...maybe skill lvl
