Harvest point locations
# Apr 18 2004 at 11:27 PM Rating: Excellent
If your having trouble finding where all the harvest points are to use your sickle. After harvsting 150,000 gil's worth of herbs and weeds I decided to share the info I've found.

***Warning if your just starting to harvest bring at Least 12 sickles or your odds of making gil decrease.***

first off here is a map with the harvest point areas colored green(^^ download the pic and zoom in with a jpg viewer).

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=62772

Since the harvest points don't need any respawn time, they just bounce back and forth your best bet is to bring some LS buddys 2-3 works well. Each guy should stick to his area so the points in his area get harvested quickly. This way it will keep the points moving and you don't have one guy whineing there are no points in his area.
You might want to party up so you can keep track of where your mates are on the map.

While you can do this just for gil making reasons you will get more out of it if you are planing on leveling cloth crafting.

sickles and taru
# Feb 06 2004 at 1:30 PM Rating: Default
I wonder if some races use tools better than others. I'm a tarutaru and i've used my sickle at least 15 times without breaking (no kidding). Its probably not true, just a suggestion.

The woodworker's guild has a limited supply of ash lumber for sale. That's why so see a bunch of people waiting there at 6 oclock every day. Refine ash log with a wind crystal to get lumber otherwise.

Or, you can got to items, click on sickle, then "use", when the harvest point shows blue, click on it.

Question!

Gak!

I tried using it and on my first try it broke. Does it always do that- brake on the first try I mean.
RE: Question!
# Mar 16 2005 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
No, from my experience, sickles brake rarely

Much cheaper to make, if you dabble in every skill. 300 at the merchant, a total of about 130 in materials...
main skill

The main skill for this is smithing not woodworking. The skill gain is in smithing only.

I think I bought it in the Port. Anyone know if these break like the pickaxes do?

Just a suggestion, but if you can't find the sickle itself, you could buy the components from the auction house and make it yourself, provided all the items were available. It's skill 0 to create so you should be as likely to succeed as fail in trying to make it.

you could also make the components yourself, like get to lvl 5 wood and buy the ash logs at the guild and make them for a cheap price, or make the cloths instead of buying them to lvl up your skills, then sell some, and use some for a nice profit
