Gagr i agree everyone and thier momma keeps jacking up the prices ont he kotes for us onks.. its horrible i've had to use beetle gloves for all of these levels and i think it's time for me toeither hunt or farm my way up to getting those kotes
I recently spoke with a GM on the subject of gil sellers and bot campers. Turns out that we, the players are not the only ones upset about that gil sellers have done to the game. The weird part is, almost no one has said anything to SE about it. SO, whether or not they are aware of the issue, a ton of people briniging it up should at least help prod SE to make the gloves ex or a forced spawn, as well as any other similarly camped drop. What do you do? Well, go to POL and find the questions and comments area, and send them a comment. Include websites, any and all info you can. Just send in a comment if you don't want to research. Anything and everything we can get in will help. Get your friends, and their friends to do the same. I started it in Shiva, please spread this to other servers as well!
45th Sam, and i have been without the red gauntlets of wonderment... heading to the AH, MH, or running through to snag chocos or the airship... every bleedin' Sam, Mnk, or Nin near my level is wearing a set of these. my god i was wondering what tree they were picking them from! 500k+ on Jeuno's AH, Cerberus. that's a few hundred thousand more gil than i can muster.
i want a set, sure, but i havent begun to dedicate the time it's going to take to farm that much. as for camping, my prime LS is in the midst of getting its main members to an SP level (me included), so they/we are busy on that agenda.
perhaps by the time i'm 50th i might be able to manage a pair... /sigh i feel completely bargain basement being hand-equiped with only Fed Tekko.
Ochiudo's Kote is going for 600k on Valefor now. Better than some of the other servers, but a few weeks ago they were 400k.
Argh.
I'm at level 32 and have started farming for the Kote, and am insanely praying that people will get a clue and stop buying the Kote at such a high price. Maybe that'll compel the sellers to lower their price. If that doesn't happen by the time I have enough funds, well, I might as well buy some of the Jujitsu gear.
Its not that people keep buyin these at high prices that make them raise the price or lower it.
Reason for price raises on these items are that the price of Gil thats bought Online has lowered. So obviously the Rate they Buy Gil for has lowered too. Say a Gil Seller makes $300 a week for selling 3 million gil, since the price the Website buys the Gil for is lower they wont make $300 a week from 3 Mil now. Now they raise the price on the items they get to make say 4 Mil a week to compensate and make theyre $300 a week again.
I do realize there is current surge of increases on camped items these past few weeks, and taking a peak at IGE, have seen their prices lowered.
However, you're feeding fire with fire if you give in to these new prices by buying the item. What if nobody buys the item because of the high price? Eventually the seller would have to lower the price to sell the item.
Unfortunately, gil farmers are stubborn and players are anxious to get those nice little red gloves just as I am. However I'm still hoping some little mini-revolt will take place and the Kote will drop down a few notches. I'll be happy if the Kote drops down 10k even. It's then unfortunate that if this does not happen that I will have to give in to the high prices, and I really don't want to do that.
Yup i just tried to get this drop on the fairy serer to find the chinese gil farmers with the name 'cool' in their name. B4 the pop even spawned i see voke fly across the room and thus they get the drop. On fairy the price of this item has increased from 500k to 600k in less than i week :) square really messed this one up guys.
heh face it, gil farmers ruined this game... i hope SE does sumthing bout it cuz it aint fun ne more just watching bots stand there... then **** claimed pop wtf??? they have no life just farm NM's all day i wish they all burn in hell and suffer most they can >.< if ne1 grees say: BURN GIL FARMER BURN!!!
Your new enemy is not latency, it is the 200 IGE employees one every server that camp these NMs. Anyone notice the recent skyrocket in NM drop prices, and related crafted items? Thank god there's AF gear. Yeah, I'm going to try for the kote til I get 'em, because I want to be the best I can be, but... this gil seller stuff is making the game much less fun.
If you're on Seraph server, going price for this is 700k on the auction house.
So unless you've mastered a very lucrative craft, have a lot of time to kill camping NMs and HNMs, or are a scum sucking IGE customer, forget about equipping this at level 34.
Personally, I prefer getting items like these the hard way, as they represent a certain level of devotion to your job. That's one reason why I like the AF quests and later the rare/ex god gear--thanks SE. I'm definitely going camp Mee Deggi for them.
Since I'm in this for more than just pimping my character out in the best gear, if I can't get the drop, I'll probably skip these altogether. One lesson I've taken from my party experience so far is that gear is secondary to good teamwork and clever strategy.
Gotta say though, that Jujitsu Gi may just be worth the 250k; it looks too cool to not to equip right away at 40.
Edit: I ignored the possibility of farming all that gil at level 34. Hats off to those of you who have. I was attempting to mine my way to it, but was sucked into smithing and gold smithing by the allure of making ingots in the mines. I developed a crafting addiction and that was the end of that.
Your connection speed does not mean crap for this. As long as you are not supremely gimped like a dial up user your overall link speed don’t mean ****.
Your enemy here is latency, which is something entirely different from your link (connection speed). Latency in a nutshell is all the delays in getting your packet from point A to B. It has to do with propagation delay, router queues, network congestion, etc. There are a lot of factors impacting the latency.
Being geographically far from the servers is a major disadvantage because no matter what your connection you will eventually be on the same backbones and suffer from the same latency. Electro-magnetic signals can only travel so fast, yes they are really fast but in order to go from NA to JP and back again you will incur a decent bit of propagation delay. Not to mention the additional queuing, routing and misc. network delays.
Its true that someone in NA with a fast connection will have their traffic reach the backbone a bit faster but it is not even close to enough to make up for the simple fact that JP players are geographically closer.
Someone also stated that they tested with a JP to see it if they get the mod drawn to screen faster. They had the JP say pop when they saw it and then voke it also ASAP.
How in the hell is this test make sense?
JP sees it at 0s and sends tell message. JP vokes it at 0.01s and voke console message is sent to anyone is zone. NA sees mob spawn at 1s NA sees tell at 1.0s NA sees voke at 1.01s
Numbers are theoretical as I did not feel like looking at the national backbone diagrams and calculating delays for various links and medias. Just used 1s because it’s a nice round number.
The guy testing this in NA saw the messages at about the same time the mob pops. So he/she concludes that JP have no advantage. REALIZE that the tell and voke are suffering from the same delay as the actual mob. Therefore the test is flawed. Even if you called your JP friend and had him say pop, the propagation delay of the phone system will skew your numbers to make it seem like JP have virtually no advantage.
Greater Attack, put simply, helps to overcome the defence of the mob. So by having higher attack, chances of doing those 4dmg hits is greatly reduced. 20 attack is a lot btw.
its our 3rd time camping this dude....and its our 3rd failed attempt...only 2 guys camping this at the time on sylph...waited almost 2hrs..and got nothing...and i had 3 of my LS buds help me out...i know i put them through some torture waiting this thing out...but the thing that annoyed me most is that on a couple of occassions, a reg Yagudo would pop up just before the NM pops...then the other campers would pull the damn thing...AAAARGH!!!
I just got these today after much farming and questing.
They're 390-410k on Phoenix (usually 400k and thats what I paid).
Here's what I did. I started off with about 30k and farmed Giddeus Bees for beehive chips (3-3.5k a stack), Buburimu Peninsula for bird feathers (2k), saruta cotton (4-4.5k, be sure to sub THF and steal the cotton), beastmen for gil and armor.
Took me about 2 weeks, but boy was it worth it when I saw "You buy the ochiudo's kote for 400,000 gil." Priceless. ^^
I know this item is even more expensive on other servers, but keep on truckin'!
Well I can finally say after 17 days I got Ochiudo's Kote. I can't use them for another 4 levels, but oh well. I mainly farmed in Outer Horutoto Ruins getting Wild Onions, Bat Wings, Bomb Ash, Cloth Thread/Cloth, and a Course Boomerang every so often. This gave me about 30k every 3 hours I played which isn't tons but it was good enough for me. Now I can level until 40 when I have to take another 17 days to farm, YAY!
My set party is planning to go and camp her to get the gloves for our SAM. Will 6 lvl 40's be safe here? Could anyone tell me the spawn time of her or how often she pops? Thanks ^^.
I lost this guy 3 times today but on the forth time i got the NM and these gloves. :) I'm so happy. Once these things sell i will have enough money to keep my ninja going. On Bismark these are going from 650-750K gil.
It seems to make sense. A server on the same continent should output to screen prior to output on a screen halfway around the world. An easy solution would be to handicap for server proximity. Or allow gamers options for same continent servers. As it stands, it is unfair. My dollar should allow me equal access as a yen.

Watch your words, dont call them ****, im japanese and i take ALOT of offence when people say that, please people re concider your words before you say somthing. Boy your lucky i stopped and thot about what I was gona say, or else i woulda flamed the f*** out of you, especialy cuz of
Whenever I think Japanese, "JP" pops into my head. It's how I refer to them in-game. "That goddamn JP jacked the price of crystals." I'm a little young to care about that particular offensive racial nickname (***), but when I pronounce my nickname for them, JP translates into "Jip." I think it's funny, thousands of NA players get jipped by those JP every day. @_@
Oh, and I hate them. They have no respect for your character. I was in a JP party, and as soon as I got there they suicided into a pack of Anticans. And since it's their sub's sub's sub's sub, they just laugh (w) it off, disbanding and not even caring that they got my main killed.
well it is kind of hard for americans to keep respect for the "****" in this game after reading a thousand <english> <party> <thanks for the offer but i will have to pass> notes on the search messages of them i personally lost all respect for them and think they need to get over themselves i have never come across a japenese who was any better than my linkshell parties we put together and there are japenese newbs too so get down from your self proclaimed throne
Well Somber, seeing as how you have a whole 8 posts, it's obvious that you're not a n00b yourself. *cackle* There are 2 major reasons why a JP would put that '<english><party>' comment up... hopefully you will be able to crawl up out of the mud enough to understand them... (wow, I'm actually flaming - I promised I wouldn't on here, but racist morons **** me off)
1. Not everybody in the world speaks English!!! *duh*
Can you read Japanese? If no, then don't get all culturally elite because some 16 year old Japanese kid doesn't speak English well enough to use it in game. (almost all younger JPs do speak some English, but not all are confident enough to use it)
2. Many (but not all) Americans are ignorant of how important honor/courtesy are to JP players. They don't want to be disgraced by having us act poorly in their PT in front of another JP they know - for NA players, the character is often a 'secret identity' where you feel free to be crazy or whatever - for the average JP, it is but an extension of their normal personality, so they wouldn't do with their character what they wouldn't do in RL, for fear that they would run into their RL neighbor and be disgraced.
Obviously exceptions will arise (esp with the younger JPs), but I've had many good conversations with polylingual JP players, and that's the general deal. By the way, I think many of them are cool as ****.
I was wondering if anyone on gilgamesh can help me get these. its pretty stiff competition up here and chi blast doesnt reach as far as i would like it to. Any help would be appreciated
