What do you mean by hit ratio? Accuracy or Attack? Im checking what the hidden traits are, some say it has some store tp trait, can anyone put their findings here?
I wanna buy this set (it's a long ways off, but meh) because it looks uber...but it's like 40k more than Brigandine armor, which is much better...does it possibly have any hidden bonuses or something? Seems kind of pointless to me, there are much better armors available around this lvl, surely this baby has more than just looks...
I looked up the recipe on this site (thank you sooo much). Total cost of ingrediants for me was more or less 40'ish. An additional 20k because the crafter charges 20% of auction house cost. heck i don't mind paying 60k when the auction house requires 200k for purchase. I did the same about the gloves but i bought the Sune-Ate and legs part. -Didn't bother with the helmet don't like them. Hope that helps... Fairy Server currently SAM48/WAR24
Man y'all are lucky. This piece of the set on my server (Fairy) costs around 150k last I checked Jeuno. Anyone on Fairy who could make this for me a little cheaper, please send a tell (Hoishi) sometime. Looking forward to getting this set. -32sam

The Myochin Domaru is a highly aggressive and intimidating piece of equipment. The thing I noticed after getting it in the Temple of Uggelipeh and warping back to Jeuno is the "faces" on it. There is one on the front and one on the back. The front face is terrifying and the face on the back is a weakling. When facing an opponent, the terror face will intimidate your foe and if you pass out, the weakling face is side up. This is all well and good, however it is not genuine Samurai Armor and the "faces" are an addition from Square Enix. The result is equipment that looks half like Samurai armor (the shoulder pads and arms are traditional) and half like something that you would see the heavy metal band Gwar wearing.
(If you've never heard of or seen Gwar they are a metal band that uses huge, over-the-top equipment - like a huge terror beast and armor that has scary faces on it - example would be a helmet that is one gigantic chomping mouth I think they have a small part in the movie Empire Records)
Anyway, as such I don't always want to go around with a gigantic chomping mouth on my armor. Imagine trying to do business while wearing terror heavy metal death armor. There's also the point that the Myochin Domaru is not really real Samurai armor and is the invention of some metalhead programmer at Square Enix. I mean, cmon whats with the red eyes on the domaru?
So when I'm not fighting, I will use the sleek Hara-Ate JSE as my regular gear. It looks very Samurai and will be my work and in town gear.
I'm not really sure on the merits of this post. It's like saying when you look at the front of a car you see a face. Just because it "looks like" something, doesn't mean that's what the designer had in mind.
Actually, it depends on the era of samurai armor that you look at. They could have very well based it on the later styles of armor that were developed from souvenir European armors bought by the daimyo. Besides that, I'm not seeing any faces on the acutal AF piece. It looks like a regular decorative design to me.
But, back on topic... I'm definitely getting this set. People may not like it when you use equipment with no stat mods, but I don't care, really. I go for the looks of almost any armor that I use, rather than the value of the mods on it. I'll probably be wearing for my wedding, when it finally happens.
Well I sold my Jujitsu Gi for 290k and I bought this armor for 9k at the AH. Why you ask? Because that's 281k towards my Haubergeon. I will prob wear this until level 55 (Masters Gi) > Level 58 (AF) then my shiny new Hauby. I know I loose +4 accuracy but honestly I havnet noticed a difference without my Jujitsu Gi. Hmmmm
So, let me see if I have this right. You sold your Jujitsu Gi for 290k.
You have 290k.
You buy this.
You have 281k.
When you hit 55, you will buy the Master's Gi...which will, by then, likely be more expensive than what you sold your Jujitsu Gi for...
So, in the end, you gave up +4 Accuracy to make 281k...and then in 9 levels, you will likely spend MORE than 281k to get your Master's Gi, which is essentially just a Jujitsu Gi all over again, only now more expensive than what you sold your Jujitsu Gi for due to inflation...so how does this get you any closer to the Hauburgeon? You saved no money in the process, and essentially forced yourself to play 9 levels in armor that will make you look, well, kind of cheap.

**As well, for all the lvl 44-49 samurai JSE (Zunari Kabuto, Hara-ate, Kote, Haidate, Sune-ate) the clothcraft level is not the same as the smithing level. The crafter I had produce the items was at 69 smithing and around 59 clothcraft (so only 10 below, but still no problems).
If anyone wants this or any of the other JSE samurai armor on carbuncle send me a tell. The armor all ranges in the mid 40's and looks great. It is also needed to make the cursed Sam armor. So if you need some of it made send a tell.
Zackar is right. it's JSE Samurai.. and waste of gil to purchase. Sam only and no stat buffs... sure, buy it. you'll be instantly recognizable as a Samurai who hasnt a clue how to maximize his/her gear.
then again, if you just want to tool around town in it, that's okay.
He is right. It is a JSE set for samurai. JSE is not the same as AF, even though AF can only be used with a specific job. JSE is any other equipment, other than AF, that can only be worn by one job.
it looks sweeeeeeet... but there's no stats! I spent half of my money for this piece just for the look *hehe* For fighting it's better to use the Brigandine Armor
No. This is a red armor, you can see it on Ayame, an NPC in the Bastok Metalworks Cannonry. The Samurai AF armor is blackish, much higher levelled, and has tasty stat bonuses. It is, however, I think, the first Samurai-only armor set.
Well i have noticed soemthign about this aromour its doesn't really make it any better to use but i have zone into an aera multiple times and used mediate and got 120 TP from not everytime, but quite a few times. Normally I'd get 100 TP jsut using it. I am 50 Sam and have no merits into sam whatsoever and nothign that enhances meditate effects Just odd thing i found when only wearing this piece.
