This is an old post but I thought that it might be worth mentioning where these ribbons can come in handy. Mostly for the mages but especially for the Whm. Also depending on your race << this really matters, and your job, this ribbon and other item like it can be useful. For example in the CoP's mission when you have to fight Diablos he uses a move that not only puts you to sleep but gives you Bio II. This not move will put you to sleep but the Bio will not wake you up. Many ppl loose this fight for that reason. So the mages with high dark resistance may be able to resist it all together or be able to wake up quickly and be able to keep the party alive. For a Galka or Elvaan with high Hp and strength they could also use this scarificing some defence and attack gear and possible be able to control the mob till the whm awakens. You probably will never see that happen but I throw that in just to explain the possabilty. That of course will depend on how you equip your player. They can also be useful depending on the fight you are about to enter and the moves that will be used against you. Hope this help to give ppl ideas on how to use items that give + resistance to magic.
I solo'ed this yesterday as a pld 71/war 35 and had very little touble. I buffed normally, used a taco and brought a couple yag drinks. He probably had me down to 600 hp and then the latent effect of the herc ring kicked in, giving me more mp.
I duo'ed the NM easily. It was me 57rdm/blm and 57smn/rdm. the first time we were worried about fighting it, but after the first fight. We laughed at how easy it was. As for that 75 pld that died in the last post. Did he fall asleep while fighting??? Basicaly keep silenced, at least and anything else u like to do in a fight. me and the smn had fun with it by doing SC > MB on the second fight.
The ribbon in fact looks more like a bandana than an actual tied ribbon. I was thinking it may actually have a modeled ribbon somewhere, but it doesn't (and that's good because then dudes *would* look seriously weird).
