IN other words, You need to watch your HP, and when it changes color due to taking a certain amount of damage, the latent effect will kick in.

Wrong. There are many different ways that latent effects are triggered. <Yellow HP is just one of those and mainly applies to the lv50 Job-specific rings, not this sword.
All latent effect means is that a certain condition has to be met before it will work.

I really want to know what latent effect is. I have seen it on the treat staff with latent effect "warp" so it would be nice to know. Thanks in advance.
it was in a number of final fantasy games, however, it's origin is Final Fantasy Tactics, it was one of Orlandu(Thunder God Cid)'s weapons, with his all-swordskill ability
Save the queen and save the king are final fantasy classic weapons. SE puts them in a lot of there games. They are the "Ultimate" weapons for donald and goofy in kingdom hearts as well
Save The Queen was also a whip used by Quistis in FFVIII if I'm correct. Guess it might be a tradition, like the Enhancing Sword goes back to FFVI, Leviathan goes back to FFV, and there's been a "Cid" in every Final Fantasy game
Latent pretty much means hidden. Hence the fact that people have to find out how to activate the effect.
Blatent, being the opposite of latent, is obvious. Like this is a blatently crappy sword, since everyone knows PLD don't do dmg outside of spirits within.
well thats not technically true...the other day i did a 426 swift blade + 566 darkness off a distortion...the party coudlnt believe it and neither could i.
and no i had no DD gear at all i had normal tank stuff
this sword says latent effect accuracy +20 what does that mean? is it a proced effect or is it a worn effect? (sorry EQ nut here looking at moving over) dont really know much about effects and such yet. anyone have a Screen cap of this wep btw? email me one if ya do ^_^ Otakuman523@msn.com
God I want this sword so bad. Just the name sends quivers up my spine. It sells for less than a million @ CaitSith. = D
Does anybody know if this is a longsword, shortsword, gladius, *******, or none of the above? If it is a longsword (and I bet it is, but just wanna be sure), and somebody could confirm it, that would be great. =)
You get this By killing Antican Praefectus, but he aint all that easy. You will at least need a well trusted party of 70+, With the new lvl Cap a good lvl 75 might be able to solo it.

God i want this blade so bad! Please post if u find out how i can get one, tell me where i can find it or off of whatever monster drops it, if u can't do that tell me how much it was in AH if u see it has been sold there.
This is the first "unique" sword that I have noticed in the game that is sorta nostalgic for the series. I'm sure there are other weapons in this game that have been in the series, but I'm referring to the more powerful "unique" weapons like the Masamune, Holy Lance, Excalibur, Atma/Ultima Weapon... Its good to find that the game is grasping on to some of the nostalgia that helps make the series as great as it is. I hope to see more of these pop up!
