Bastard Sword that Drains
# Jun 26 2008 at 1:22 AM Rating: Default
This ******* Sword had been coated with beastmen's blood, allowing the wielder to absorb his enemy's health.

just so people know,
the person who posted "-20% damage" was probably using a bought account or was someone trying to drive prices/sales. the -20% damage was because he was also using a shield (which parsed down his damage). this sword has no extra effect, but by saying "-20% damage" that person was trying to make people buy the sword.
was all a farce
No hidden -??% dmg taken effect

I went to east altepa desert and battled Sabotenders to try and get 1000 Needles on me with Gluttony Sword, Earth Staff, and Bloody Sword. This is what happened:

Gluttony: 1000 dmg taken
Earth Staff: 800 dmg taken
Bloody: 1000 dmg taken

so no hidden effect :(
bought sword for nothing.

Hidden Effect?

My friend pressured me into buying one of these for farming... 70k so not a big deal. When I was EXPing today, I equiped it to see how much HP i could absorb... (2HP every couple of swings against ITs)... I was being hit while this equiped and I was getting hit anywhere from 100-110 damage. But on the next Crawler, I equiped my Gluttony Sword again and noticed I was getting hit between 130-150... Same type of monster, no critical hits. I'm wondering if there is a Hidden -?% damage on this sword. I only saw this today.. I'll be testing some more to see.

Being DRK, I don't use single hand swords in XP, but I have one of these for farming, coffer key fights and skillup, and it is great in those situations.

Damage isn't too bad (again for those situations), and the HP return is generally 15-30 on coffer level mobs. It procs fairly often in farming/coffer/skillup situations too. With my Vampire Cloak, Bloody bolts on my crossbow and this sword, farming is so much easier.

And from an aesthetic standpoint, it really is a handsome weapon.

I plan to get this when i hit 63...sold my bloody blade for about 30k more than i bought it, but i must say it is fun for using to farm. While on my way to crawlers nest to skill up, i was killing gobbues and crawlers in rolanberry and i was getting hp back pretty often. Once i hit crawlers nest i was getting hp back...well not so often at all.

I would say for any War/Nin wanting to skill up sword use this and an ifrits blade(65) and maybe pick up another one of these for farming as downtime would be slim

a 64 pld friend told me she tried this sword and it has a latent effect. That effect she claims is phys dmg - 20% well i didn't believe it until she teamed with me equipped her blood sword i saw the dmg than equipped earth staff and low and behold the same dmg. Now i am wondering if the HQ has the same ability. Oh well i just bought one so i guess i'll find out soon enough

Agree with Gutts

I bought this sword just out of curiousity, used it for a few fights during XP'n and it maybe drained a total of 45HP in 5 fights... Slightly higher dmg and a nice idea but pretty much a useless xp sword. I'm only going to keep it for the sake of helping others take down less then EM mobs (AF's or MSN's) or for farming.

Ok, Just confirmed it... this sword is nothing special... HP drained average was about 10-20hp, and it only occured like 1/20 hits... and that is HITS not outta attempts to hit. Overall... I strongly suggest Paladins stay away from this weapon, instead use your Gluttony, or wait for Espadon.
Paladin? nah.

Well I know for sure it is for Paladin because I just checked the AH (^_-). But why would a Paladin use it? I mean, the HP drain most likely isn't very large, and the odds of HP drain are most likely liek other drain weapons, bad. And finaly, the odds of a Paladin hitting most mobs in a normal EXP fight is about 50%, as the Paladin puts most of there EQ into building VIT, and other defense boosting items, not accuracy.

I really would only think a Paladin would use this sword under 2 contidions. 1: If the Paladin was farming for gil and wanted to not rest as much. and 2: if the party had a solid summoner, who had all of the avatars, including fenrir. I say this because if you are level 60+ Paladin and do not have a Gluttony sword... then you are hurting... +7 VIT is every Paladins dream, unless you are confused on your job. Anyways, if you have the summons and have blink, stone skin, and fenrir's buffs you wouldnt need the +7 VIT as much and can try to use a weapon that deals more damage for more hate.
