Carbuncle's Ruby
Is it possibl to get the ruby UNDER level 30 or do you have 2 be level 30 to get the drop.
Just for clarification (lets me train my other jobs then at the same time :^)

This happened more than a year ago when I got my ruby but...
Me and my LS mate were talking on the way to Buburimu about how long we were probably gonna be there killing leeches. Kill 1 and BAM!!! Leech dropped it! He wasn't a thf btw.

I can confirm the drop in Qufim, cant remember the exact details on day/weather/moon etc, but yesterday me and a blm friend was killing these for some blood killed maybe about 5 or 6 before it dropped and killed about 5 more with no drop then we got bored and left. Also wearing Trump Crown for TH+. have fun

This ******* took the longest of any quest related item I've ever had the obligation to retrieve. Those damned leeches and their stupid stinginess when it comes to parting with valuable items. I fervently wish anyone trying to get this item the best of luck with those slimy buggers.

i got my ruby from a leech in the Burimuru Peninsula(go to the beach right next to Mhura)(i think its south), i had a lvl 42 blm/15 thf and a high lvl bst help me, we got the ruby in about 10 kills, so just head there and get your ruby there

Well after reading some posts on here I decided it should be fairly easy to get one of these since im a lvl 63blm. So one of my friends was pting in the dunes so I went to kill leeches around him incase he got in trouble (I ended up murdering a few links for him too =p). After awhile a high lvl smn camping VE told me they dont drop ruby's we should goto Qufim Island.
Ok I say, along the way we pickup a high 50's DRG. After about 30 mins of killing the Smn says he is going to reboot and never comes back. The drg and I kill the apoc. leeches for seriously 2-3 hours. Id say we killed atleast 80-100. NO drop, just fiend bloods. Im wondering if SE changed the drop on these in qufim or I just have the worst luck in the world.

Can someone help me. I killed lets say about 10-20 leechs in jugner forest..nothing. Killed another 10-20 leeches in valkurm dunes...nothing (when I was leveling in valk, one dropped a carbuncle ruby but everyone lotted for it, i didn't get it)
Then went to bubumaru peninsula on kooma beach and killed about 30+.
I had 4000/5800tnl. I am a rdm30/blm15. Killing leeches gives me 29-37 exp since they are easy prey to me. I eventually lvled and still not a single drop.
Can anyone help me with this?

Try fighting Acrophies up in Qufim Isle. One should drop it around the first 5 tries.
I used to help out friends with thf 65+ with the ruby. Always used Qufim leeches, and rare when a ruby did not drop by the 4th kill. Try Qufim, and good luck.

ALRIGHT! I finally got it at bubu.. I was about 1/100 on it with TH. Now thats sad.

I got it in a leech pt at qufim island. The drop rate seems not that bad, it was the 5th or 6th leech killed the one who dropped.
Also drops off Goobue Parasites in Zi'Tah. Pretty good drop rate since I maybe killed a total of 10 leeches (trying to convert pets to EM as a BST).
I remmeber helping a friend with the ninja quest.
I cleared the leeches in the room with the NMs and a ruby dropped. Talk about 2 birds with 1 stone. =)

As allready posted, Maze of Shakrami is simply amazing for it... Other poster wasn't just lucky, i was fooling around in the room some time ago, and had 4 rubies drop in a single hour. Save yourself the trouble, and go there.
Best droprate for ruby is in qufim. second is bubu, then rolanberry, and passhow, etc. I got mine about 30 minutes ago in Qufim with 2 ls members. Still gotta get one more for another member, so we're gonna head back to qufim. Hoorah x.x
leech king room in maze of shak took about 20 minutes with a lvl 60 smn and rahmuh cleared room once and rested got drop half way into second room clear out. for fun pull all the leeches to another part of the map, those guys hunting argus will have to wonder if the leech king popped and got claimed, esp if you get far enough away to keep the kills out of the chat log. one downside of this, without avatar the linkage in this room is a nightmare, and rolling thunder does quite well ;)

Me (sam/thf 37) and my friend Tolilli (whm/blm 37) have spent the last 4 nights(2 1/2 hrs each) in Buburimu killing Leeches.... this is silly! I stopped counting kills after 400 o.O I have thf subbed and a 4leaf clover *and* a lucky rabbits tail in my inventory. I don't know what I did to make the gods angry <.<

me (30blm/15whm) and my friend, a whm42/blm21, looked for these in the maze of sharkrami for an hour. Not on drop. Does haveing a mage job affect the drop rate or something?

You won't believe this, but it's true:
After 4 hours of hopelessly waiting for pirates to attack the boat between Mhaura and Selbina, I gave up and went to kill poison leeches in the Buburimu Peninsula. I got the ruby on the first kill... without the help of a THF or anything. I'm still grinning ear-to-ear. :-)

I have tried countless times for 2 hours each day fighting leeches in Buburibu Penninsula 2 times i had a theif with me that had TH2. I dont get it the drop rate must be really low. :( well if anyone on the Azura server wants to help me out please send "Filter" a message or tell Sorry for the lengthy post :/

i was looking for a party this morning and a ls buddy acked if i wanted to go kill some stuff so i said yea(my main is drg and i wasn't getting any invites, sorry pld i don't mean to steal your hate)So as we were out i asked if we could kill a leach or two and he said sure, it was maybe our 5th leach and it droped, i was so excited cause i have read evryones horror stories and i was hopeing i would have better luck. Congrats to those that have the ruby and good luck to those going after it
