Fishing with Composite Rod along with a Minnow on Selbina ship, I caught a lot of Cone Calamary... Can anyone tell me what are they used for???

There seems to be some confusion over the Goldsmithing skill level required for this synthesis. There are two "recipies" that can be used to create the Minnow. The skills I list here are when the crastsman will stop gaining skill ups from the synthesis.
Recipe #1 - Fire Crystal + Bronze Ingot + Glass Fiber = 26 AL / 10 GS
Recipe #2 - Fire Crystal + Copper Ingot + Glass Fiber = 31 AL / 2 GS

Recipe #1 is not a Bronze Ingot, it is Brass. I cannot say this definitely, because I haven't tried with a Bronze Ingot, but I have confirmed that a Brass Ingot works and that the goldsmithing cap is greater than 9.

if you use these with a composite or mithran rod in the pond in la theine you can catch catfish(32) and i think red terripin(52) (because i got lack of skill)

I crafted 12 of these at skill 6 with no skill gain.

Does anyone know how much a merchant will buy this for? Is it possible to break even off buying (or farming) goblin masks, turning those into glass fiber, buying brass ingots, and making the Minnows?

is this the best lure to use in fresh water to raise fishing skill when my current skill is 13?
or
should i use a different lure/bait in salt/fresh water to raise my skill the fastest? (i have tried the boat with minnow, didnt raise skill very fast cause i could pull anything up)

my skill is 13, and I am getting great skill gains using lugworms on yellow globe in the quifim lake. If u buy them from the fishing guild it's only 36 (or 3*12 with my fame) a stack as opposed to the 300-500 for the bait you are talking about (that would be better for large fish). It's great because my rod doesn't break very often, and I can just fix it if it does. Glass rod will only break on the other two fish I'm catching there Tiger Cod and.. something else (the something else is worth like 400 to an NPC).

I have gotten goldsmithing increases making this. My goldsmith is 5.
You will get Goldsmithing skill increases untill your Goldsmithing hits 11, at which point you will fail less.
