I don't know why I see this suggested for leveling. It's almost as bad as bataquiche.

Assuming that some recipes simply don't provide skill gain like others, I would suggest experimenting with other recipes, especially those that'll sell for a profit to cover expensive breaks. This npcs for 199g and costs about 400g to make with fire crystals at 900g/stack. I made a few attempts with 2 stacks of materials each over different moon phases and days. I averaged .3 skill per stack, the latest with only .2 skill gain per stack. That's 14400g in loss to make a little over a level. Bearing that in mind, spending a bit on cockatrice meat, wild onions, or wasabi for a fraction of the loss if any doesn't seem all that bad.

Guild Points
# Apr 15 2006 at 11:43 AM Rating: Excellent
This item when traded to the guiuld is worth 198 guild points and the Royle tea is worth 240 points.

I can't rember how much guild points you need for the day but it was around about 3200 points.

So trading in about 14 royle tea or trading in 18 San d'orian tea will cover you for your guild points for that day.

Can anyone confirm whether this stacks with Flint Caviar or Tuna Sushi?

I know I can drink Yag drinks, juices, etc. with a food like Flint Caviar but I was not sure if this stacked with them or not.

Thanks for your help.

Although this IS considered a drink, think of it of more like a meal instead of the usual MP/HP regen types of drinks. Like all meals, you can only have 1 going at a time.

It will stack with HP/MP regen types of drinks, but not with foods.

HP regen drinks(i.e. Selbina Milk) can stack with MP regen/refreshing juices(i.e. apple, grape, yagudo, etc)

I think that, since this is a drink, you can stack it, but it's not like MP/HP regen like other drinks. Test it out

Tea is considered Food item and stacks with a drink(s) when consumed one at a time til duration expires, you cannot consume food when you have had tea til the food effect wears off.
No Drinks Stack in either the inventory Slot Stack or the manner of consuming more than one at a time.

Not sellable by vendor?
# Jan 27 2005 at 12:26 PM Rating: Decent
Either this requires a certain region to be under Sandorian control or the NPC in Sandoria no longer sells this tea.

Does anyone else find it funny you use WINDURST tea leaves and SELBINA milk to make SANDORIAN tea?

What I find funny is that you have to have a Cooking skill at LEAST in the 60s to make something that boosts CHR 2 points for one hour.

Granted, I'm still new to the game, but can 2 points of CHR be THAT important to require a skillcap of 70?

You have to consider, Final Fantasy XI is a Japanese game. The same question has been brought up about other teas...you have to remember, in Japan tea & tea-serving are art forms. Hence the higher requirement for skill in their cooking in game.

To the Japanese, having this at a lower cooking skill imo would roughly equate to having a 5 year old cook Filet Mignon. It just doesn't happen.

I think that Faulkon is complaining about how weak the stats are for a food item at this skill level rather then the type of food you are able to make.

Tea = Teabag + Hot Water

Am I missing something?
Plus! the NPC no longer sells this which really blows now that I have all the other items bought for the Past Reflections quest.

How come there is no Bastokan Tea?

San D'Oria and Windurst have their own teas!

Because men in Bastok are manly...and do not resemble their women...

I don't actually know...my theory is just based on the CHA score thing and Elvaan males and Taru males looking suspiciously like their females.

SERIOUS NOTE:
WE have Chocomilk (it says it's a Bastokan beverage)...we take kukru beans and grind them up with sugar and milk...and make hot chocolate. That's better than tea ^^
