all you guys have it all wrong.

unless you have 100+ evasion, when fighting anything tougher than you, it will amost hit you well enough that whatever puny evasion you have wotn make a difference.

having +str for a dark may prove to be too much for people who dont know how to manage their hate, or when you have a poor tank who cant keep hate. for evasion gear that a drk can equip at any given time, provided you pull enough hate, for the durration you have hate, the mob will probably hit you 90-100% of the hits it makes.

if youre soloing, knock yourself out with all the eva you can afford.

in any case, it all comes down to what you wanna wear and what you can afford.
equip macro

the correct way for macroing equipment is:

example: /equip legs "Chaos flanchard" <me>

obviously you would change the (legs), to whatever slot you want to use, i.e. hands, feet, etc.

be sure that the spelling of the equipment is matches the description, even if it is abbreviated.

everyone seems to be flaming eachother over whether these are useful or not....

IMO rk is better... why? because str+ and dex+ is way better than parrying or eva.. why do i think that? well technically the eva is great when you pull hate and so some people say, well make a macro to put them in.. but im not sure you people have put the fact that fang/spike/assault earring lower evasion.. so in terms adding +5 eva when you have -10eva or even more (depending if you have snipers or woodsmans) (since woodsman is another -5)

so unless you are macro'ing your snipers/woodsman/ w.e ring you have out of your equppment along with your earrings when you draw hate, you arent doing much to change the amount of damamge or eva you are going to have just slightly boost it and significantly lower your acc and damage.....

so in some ways people are correct when you draw hate they are good to macro in, but only difference if going to come when removing or changing your earrings and rings as well .. to the eva+5 earrings (cant think of name atm elusive? perhaps) and some agi or vit + rings....to lower your maximumdamage/ raise ability to evade ,respectively

so in the end .. will i use these in exp parties... ?? probably not...strutting around in towns most likley i will.... i am doing enough as it is in exp partieds to try and maintain a line or hate/ damage as to help the pt out.. i mean i could go all out dropping 1k+ damage sc's and drawing hate and then macro'ing in armor and other gear when i draw hate?? <no thanks>

OMG he is sooo right! As a 59 DRK your gonna get hit anyway if u have all the DD gear. That's why there's "cover." I'll just use it for solo....

In general, you put in the macro /equip slot item.

For this I would guess (dunno if there is an abbreviation or not) that it should say:

/equip Legs "Chaos flanchard"

Forgive me if this doesn't work, since I don't have the item, I can't give you the proper item name abbreviation or capitalization.

The best way to get the correct name for the item is to do the following: Obtain the item (^.^). Keep the item in your inventory. Open your Inventory then close it. Go into your macro editor. Type /equip Legs. Then after a space, press the Tab button to open the auto translator. Press up and highlight "Items". At this point you can scroll through the items and find the Flanchard or close out of it all together (if you do this, type ch then press tab, it should give you a list of items that begin with ch. Choose the flanchard from the list.) Go back and put quotation marks before and after the item name.

Doing it this way will give you the proper name for the item in the macro. I highly recomend it since some items capitalize the second word and some don't while still others shorten words.

Good Luck! Enjoy your new pants!

Wow, quite a heated debate going on here. Why can't we all just be freinds =P?

Alright, I see that's never going to happen, but seriously, let's get smart here people. Drk's are there for damage, and it is their job to increase the amount of damage that they do as much as possible. In doing so, however, it is impossible to avoid doing too much damage and drawing hate from time to time. In the event that this happens, here is what I suggest.

Three words: equipment change macro.

Seriously, when you bust out a 1000+ damage guillotine, you're going to draw hate. It's just expected. So if you're expecting it, be prepared for it. Have your haubergeon equipped, along with your R.K. pants, hit your guillotine macro, and then switch to your AF body and pants via the equipment change macro. The tank has to get hate back anyways, so what's wrong with doing a little less damage for a time? The VIT+, extra defense, parrying+, evasion+, and lack of evasion- from the haubergeon seriously decreases the amount of damage dealt to you. When the tank gets hate back, just switch back to the damage equipment.

Look, I know most drk's are obsessed with doing massive damage at any cost (I know I certainly am), but let's get real. We can't do damage if we're dead, so the answer is simple; don't die.

I'm a 61 Drk on Valefor, and im equipped best of my ability. Haubergon, Ryl Kngt pants, Winged Boots, Emp Hairpin, Sniper rings, Ryl Guard Collar, Assault Earing, Spike Earing, Lightning Bow for the dex, Amemit Mantle +1,and a Vassaggos scythe. I have 400+ attack with food and thf sub or sam sub, and 500+ attack with War sub, +52 accuracy without counting the dex and +37 attack. I do 1k-1.3k guillotines in the SC and no matter how good of a pld you have you get hate unless you SATA on someone. These pants are much better than the Ryl Kngt breeches for the simple fact with the Evasion boost adding to my emp pins evasion and covering the haubergons eva down I dodge a couple hits and those I dont dodge I parry cause of the parry +, since souleater is enhanced now the +HP is definately good and being elvaan +INT is definately a great thing. People get the impression from other morons that DRK AF is useless but it isnt if you take into consideration all the factors like souleater draining ur hp, races with low INT, and the hate that drk almost always get. I have macros to equip helm for souleater and if it wasnt for the fact my friend crafted my winged boots id def be wearing my drk AF. The only piece thats not something to be extremely happy about is the body but even still the body is great but if you are elvaan you know we have the secret skill acc bonus -20 lol so haubergon is the way to go. Races like taru, mithra, and Hume can easily get by using the DRK full AF till the level 69 gear, dont be fooled by what people say these pants and all the AF for that fact are worth getting.
Idiots..

These pants have great stats...they can save your life many times. The INT for higher drains, and the evasion and parrying to save your self. Before you say something stupid try to think for the first time in your life.

Also, just because you're a higher level doesn't mean a damn thing. You can be level 75 and still be a dumb ****.

I laugh when I see DRK's in exp parties wearing AF. Our AF is garbage, except for the helmet and boots. I only wear the boots because there isn't any better equipment at my level.

your and idiot man to laugh at a DRK in AF, anying type of evasion boots for a drk + parry will help the whm keep mp and the drk to stay alive longer + less dmg will deal casue of him parring the attack. Dont post thing if you have no idea what you posting about.

You laugh because you're retarded and retards laugh at everything. Any Drk as well equipped as the Pld in his group will occasionally get hate. Period. Be it from doubling up Crit hits, Souleater, or a too strong SC. So if you laugh at The +Evasion, Parrying, Int, and increase of Drks JA's over the few extra attack you get from RK gear, and how important it is that your Drk doesn't drain your Whm before Pld gets emnity back, then you're a fool. Haubergeon is a better body piece at 59, But when you see Drk in AF consider it one step below the Haubergeon, and a small step at that.

The AF is good for the evasion and + parrying skill, I will give you that. However, any DD who knows his/her stuff knows when to dish it out and when to hold back. And yes, the Hauby is a GODLY piece of armor. I still use my AF, for farming. :)

what do you mean worthless ? do you like ghetting hit and not parrying or evading attacks? for 1 extra accuracy point with the knights breeches i dont think its worth it, when i find that i accidently take agro off the paladin i rarely get hit if i have my evasion gear and my parrying isnt too bad either. i intentionally downgraded to the royal squire breeches just cause i was going to get the chaos flanchard , it has 1 extra defense more hitpoints a damage bonus for our dark magic and 2 different +'s to chance of evading an attack and especially for elvaan with our low INT the +3 is nice, i think ppl are too interested in accuracy and attack items they overlook the benifits of other stats and spell resistances. but thats just me i guess ^^

i think i'll equip my royal knight's breeches at lvl 55 and keep them on for a while...the breeches are so much better than these, especially for a DRK

i will still get this AF tho, but only for show. (i didn't rhyme on purpose there lol)
