You're all lucky... I paid 350k on Caitsith. Every 60 days one pops up, so I figured it was worth it. Now for my Moldy... (0/17 on the drop)

I've tried the BCNM for this, finding a group competent enugh is a pain, and even when we had a god group, it takes a couple tries to get it right. We won once and didnt get this sword :(

I've wasted all my seals and camped the Ah for a while now, trying to get this damn thing for my roomate who's wanted it for along time.

Anyone on Titan Server who plans on selling this please look up Jerric or Duely before you list it. We arent Obesely rich or anything, but i'd be willing to work something out for your trouble.

/Thanks

RDM in full AF + this sword + spiked buckler = sexy

The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.

This sword is really worth it. It speed with haste make it almost to the speed of hornetneedle without haste. I have used WW Anelance and Gold Sword, and eventhough the damage output is by far greater (dmg of 100 with WWA compared to 80 in TW), it speed is great when fighting EP/DC and elementals.

Plus I love more the looks of Aramis compared to the other two. Indeed, this rapier is the sexiest and pimping sword rdm gets before Enhancing sword. This sword is the main reason i want to level my ninja to dual wield Aramis and hornetneedle.

If I ever get married ingame, I will wear this, along with my rdm AF, to the wedding. This is the sexiest sword that there will ever be, and only the enhancing sword could ever outdo it...

You can't, bud.

Having set up and attending an in-game wedding for some real-life friends of mine, I can tell you firsthand that you aren't allowed to wear weapons of any kind.

Unless you're the bride/groom for a sandorian wedding. Weapons are a part of the ceremony in that country.

This item has a rather thin history in the Alexander AH, and I have yet to see any RDM other than myself equip the thing, but it is at least worth a look. It is the fastest sword in the game, or at least the fastest Allakhazam lists at this writing, and thus is a weapon perfect for En-spells. It is over 5% faster than the popular R.G. Fleuret, and against IT++ types where the En-spell is doing half the hurt that might be enough to make up the 3 points difference in damage (33 vs. 30). It certainly destroys the daggers available at this level, having 1/3 again more damage while giving up just 5%-%10 in speed.

Plus, both the fleuret and the Wise Wizards anelace (which is clearly the best choice at this level for solo work) look and sound dopey, while this weapon has a sleek fencer style that meshes well with the RDM artifact armor. And the novelty factor is worth something.

Your points are valid, but, in my opinion, the royal guard fleuret is better because of it's +3 accuracy and additional damage. The %5 quicker delay is nice, but I think it is outweighed by the accuracy defficit -- especially when combined with other accuracy items such as belts (life belt), rings (sniper/archer rings), shields (balance buckler), and neckwear (merman's/coral gorget).

After reading your description, I too decided to purchase this sword. It was only 40k at the Jeuno AH. Same price as my Wise Wizard's Anelace, so I'm in the process of selling that now.

I'm not sure how well I'll like this sword... We'll see...
