Hi I am a NIN 14 and was sick of doing 0 DMG to crabs in valkrum so I bought this Great Katana to use on the crabs but when i equipped it my Attack dropped to 19 and did 3 damaga to easy prey.
Does anyone know why this is?

This is because your Weapon Skill level directly affects your Attack. If you have a 0 skill in G.Katana, your Attack falls to roughly STRx2, and Accuracy will be extremly low vs. Incredibly Tough monsters. You can get G.Katana up to 30 in Konschtat easily enough (worms and high level saplings in particular will get you this skill level rather easily).

If you're doing 0 damage, it's because your STR is too low. Either eat meat mithkabobs or buy STR rings. If you're a tanking NIN, it'll get easier at 15 when you get elemental ninjutsu. If you've been invited to be a DD, you *must* have STR and Attack gear and eat food, because NINs don't do very good damage until mid-game.

I doubt you could dual wield the uchigatana... You use 2 hands to use a Great Katana, but I could be wrong

I really dont know because i heard of the great defense that the paladin had, but i also heard about the great attack that a samurai had. Another thing that i need to know is if samurais have good armor. Please write back a post or 2

Neither is better, but samurai is usually a support job for a damage dealing job, especially dark knight. Each class has a specialty. The paladin specialty is defence, while the samurai specialty is TP.

If you want to be tbe person who always tanks for the party, choose paladin. If you wish to use TP alot be a samurai, although samurai is probably best as a subjob for dark knight.

Absolutely nothing. He just doesn't like Samurais. The amount of items needed to synth this seems quite excessive, doesn't it?
